Job Summary: The Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in building and scaling the data platform, working on infrastructure for internal analytics and customer-facing data products within a multidisciplinary team. An environment with autonomy, continuous learning, and real business impact. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical roadmap to build and scale our data platform. You will play a critical role in constructing our infrastructure—from its foundations to a production-ready system that powers both internal analytics and data products used by our customers. You will join a multidisciplinary team comprising developers, product owners, designers, and QAs, operating at the intersection of engineering, product, and business. This position is for someone who has already built data platforms, understands what "production\-ready" means, and wants to work on applications used by the largest telecom and utility companies in Latin America. **Responsibilities and Duties** **What you’ll be responsible for:** * Own the data platform roadmap: Collaborate closely with stakeholders, engineering, and product teams to map their needs and translate them into platform capabilities. * Productize data sharing: We currently maintain numerous critical datasets for our customers’ operations and business intelligence. You will design and implement a secure, scalable self\-service data-sharing tool capable of onboarding new customers without requiring custom code. * Own data IaC: Our entire infrastructure is managed in Pulumi. You will evolve and maintain resources on GCP (BigQuery, GCS, Cloud Run, DataFlow), always prioritizing organization, security, and cost efficiency. * Build data products for our customers: Develop insight APIs and design the necessary infrastructure to expose metrics, reports, and dashboards directly to Wave customers. You will partner with Product and Engineering to define contracts, schemas, and ensure low-latency, highly reliable deliveries. * Create an environment for ML workloads: We are beginning to integrate AI models into our products. You will ensure our data architecture (granularity, storage patterns) becomes “AI\-ready”, paving the way for future solutions such as churn prediction, plan optimization, anti\-fraud, etc. **Requirements and Qualifications** **What we’re looking for:** * Strong experience in data engineering and development of data platforms. * Ability to lead a company’s data area during exponential growth and develop enterprise-grade solutions. * Python expert with strong software engineering best practices. Comfortable configuring monitoring, CI/CD pipelines, and understanding the importance of testing throughout the software lifecycle. * Proficient in SQL and skilled in modeling entities and data schemas. * Experience with GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Run, DataFlow) or equivalent services. Comfortable defining infrastructure using Pulumi or Terraform. * Product-oriented mindset.
