Description
Performs fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of metal components; based on engineering drawings, defines techniques, materials, machines, equipment, instruments, tools, and accessories required for constructing boilers, tanks, pressure vessels, furnaces, chimneys, and other metal parts and structures.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
* Assist in planning and evaluating fabrication or repair activities by participating in meetings and proposing best execution practices to ensure greater safety and productivity during task implementation.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, applying knowledge in accordance with applicable standards, to produce components according to the design specifications.
* Conduct self-inspection of materials using measuring instruments, visual analysis, and reference to the project documentation to ensure quality throughout subsequent operations.
* Perform layout of shapes on flat surfaces using instruments and tools to initiate jig assembly.
* Assemble jigs with assistance from overhead cranes and previously laid-out shapes on flat surfaces, preparing for shell assembly initiation.
* Install piping systems using overhead cranes and accessories, positioning each item per project specifications.
* Perform dimensional layout of components per project measurements using instruments such as laser levels and tape measures, ensuring dimensional compliance.
* Assemble caps and accessories using project instruments and references for accurate component positioning.
* Carry out squaring, leveling, alignment, and straightening of components using optical levels, laser levels, torches, and hand tools to ensure maximum dimensional accuracy per project requirements.
* Perform tack welding during the assembly phase using welding equipment to position components and prepare for full welding.
* Perform cutting with oxy-fuel torches based on project specifications and technical knowledge to adjust components and guarantee specified dimensions.
* Assist in conducting leak-tightness/pneumatic tests using appropriate devices and compressed air to ensure quality prior to transfer to the testing department.
* Record performed activities in an electronic system to ensure process traceability and enable comparison between actual results and planned activities.
* Perform other related tasks of similar nature and complexity level, according to organizational demands.
**Requirements and Qualifications**
* Completed high school education.
* Technical or vocational training in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or related fields is desirable.
* Desired knowledge includes: Trigonometry, Welding Assembly Processes, Oxy-Fuel Cutting Operation, Mechanical Technical Drawing, Operation of Advanced Measuring Instruments (Optical Levels, Laser Levels, Calipers).
