Job Summary: A Civil Engineering professional to design structural reinforcements and adaptations for storage and bulk-handling facilities, ensuring safety and optimization. Key Highlights: 1. Experience in reinforcement and retrofitting of silo and dryer structures 2. Proficiency in ABNT technical standards and dynamic loads 3. Involvement in optimizing dispatch operations and safety (NRs) ### **JOB DESCRIPTION** * Foundation and base reinforcement: Design reinforcements for elevator pits (hoppers), silo bases, and dryer bases—often deep. * Silo/Warehouse retrofitting: Design wall reinforcements for silos (metal sheets) and column reinforcements for bulk warehouses to withstand higher grain pressure. * Sizing for new loads: Calculate structural capacity to support heavier machinery or higher dynamic loads (e.g., new conveyors, elevators, cleaning machines). * Walkway and tower design: Design maintenance walkways and lifting towers (grain elevators), ensuring stability and safety. * Dryer adaptation: Design structures for new continuous-flow dryers or furnaces, adapting bases and supports. * Dispatch improvement: Design lower tunnels, slopes, or new structures to facilitate loading/unloading and optimize time. * Safety (NRs): Incorporate safety elements such as ship ladders, guardrails, work platforms, and anchorage points into metallic structures. * Issuance of drawings and details: Draw connection details, welds, bolts, and anchorages for the new structure. * Intervention schedule: Assist in defining renovation stages to minimize downtime of the storage facility. * Engineering solutions: Propose construction methods that avoid confined-space work whenever possible. ### **JOB REQUIREMENTS** * Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with active registration at the respective engineering council (CREA). * Technical Standards (ABNT): Proficiency in NBR 6118 (Concrete Structures), NBR 8800 (Steel Structures), and critically, loading standards such as NBR 6123 (Wind Forces). * Dynamic and Vibratory Loads: Knowledge of structures supporting machinery (bucket elevators, conveyors) that generate constant vibration. * Grain Pressure: Understanding of lateral and vertical pressures exerted by bulk materials (Janssen’s Theory or international standards). * Coordination: Experience designing on existing structures. * Structural Pathology: Ability to diagnose whether an existing structure can support heavier new equipment or requires structural reinforcement. ### **ADDITIONAL INFORMATION** **Contract:** PJ
