Responsible for analytical activities and overall progress of work carried out in the Physicochemical and/or Microbiological Laboratories, ensuring correct execution of analytical methods and procedures, performing chemical analyses and tests on raw materials, ingredients, intermediate products, and finished products, developing and validating inspection and quality control methods, preparing reports and technical assessments with results and diagnoses, and ensuring timely updates to all relevant management system documents (manuals, procedures, and work instructions). **Responsibilities and Duties** * Supervise and guide task distribution among team members at various levels according to complexity and requester needs, as well as laboratory team activities involving tests, calculations, assays, and evaluations on raw materials, processes, and finished products. * Ensure inventory control and minimum stock levels of materials, products, and items required to fulfill laboratory analysis plans, arranging replenishment whenever necessary. Also ensure laboratory costs remain aligned with the approved budget. * Provide technical guidance and support to internal departments and suppliers regarding appropriate laboratory analysis procedures for raw materials, in-process products, and finished products. * Lead team development through continuous performance monitoring, promptly correcting behavioral deviations or technical deficiencies, and formalizing feedback to subordinates. * Promote best practices in laboratory, chemical, physical, physicochemical, and microbiological analyses; clarify operational details and difficulties within the area; and contribute to process analysis and improvement implementation. * Ensure proper use and maintenance of laboratory equipment, keeping it in optimal working condition to guarantee reliability of analytical results. * Establish criteria and procedures for disposal of unusable materials, monitoring and controlling locations and destinations of various products. * Ensure proper registration and control of items subject to technical and/or legal usage restrictions, verifying records and clarifying any questions. * Ensure appropriate supplier evaluation and maintain up-to-date documentation related to laboratory tasks and Pest Control activities to guarantee proper supplier qualification. Monitor visits by Pest Control staff. * Evaluate and decide on corrective and preventive actions for situations and incidents identified and recorded by team members. * Achieve departmental goals through result monitoring and implementation of action plans for corrections and reviews aimed at improving processes and outcomes. * Support team retention, motivation, and development by identifying training and development needs, promotions, transfers, replacements, etc., in alignment with Human Resources strategic policies; assist coordination in timekeeping, vacation management, etc. * Comply with personal, environmental, and sanitary hygiene requirements related to food safety as defined in the current program. Organize and control calibration and verification records of process instruments affecting food quality and safety. * Conduct supplementary studies and analyses related to waste disposal arising from performed analyses, following previously established criteria and procedures. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed Technical or Higher Education degree in Chemistry, Food Technology, or related fields with technological attribution as per CRQ regulations. * Active CRQ registration. Desirable: * Good Laboratory Practices and analytical procedures. * Good Manufacturing Practices. * Food Safety (HACCP) based on ISO 22000. * Quality awareness based on 5S methodology. * ABNT, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 22000, and ISO 9001 standards. * Pest management. * Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. * NR 20: Flammable Liquids. * NR 25: Industrial Waste. **Additional Information** **We take the well-being of Our People very seriously!
