Job Summary: We are seeking an Immediate Officer to join our modern fleet, engaged in dynamic and highly complex operations, with a focus on people and process management, safety, and technical excellence. People and process management, safety, and technical excellence We are looking for an Immediate Officer to join our expanding fleet in Brazil. You will have the opportunity to work aboard a modern vessel fleet with high technological capability and participate in dynamic and highly complex operations, including: * Anchor handling and torpedo launching on AHTS vessels; * Inspection, maintenance, subsea construction, and saturation diving on RSV, CSV, DSV, and MPSV vessels; * Flexible pipe laying on PLSV vessels. We seek professionals with expertise in maneuvering, planning, and administrative process organization on the bridge, combined with strong people and process management capabilities, focused on safety, operational efficiency, and technical excellence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Enforcing and ensuring compliance with the “Captain’s Standing Orders”; * Maintaining order, discipline, cleanliness, and vessel preservation; * Ensuring the operational efficiency of mooring, firefighting, lifesaving, and other deck-related equipment; * Assisting the Captain in any emergency situation; * Supporting the Captain in implementing company policies and procedures; * Operating the dynamic positioning system when applicable; * Instructing and coordinating deck and cabin crew activities; * Monitoring the vessel’s class status; * Monitoring the vessel’s watertight integrity; * Inspecting areas of the vessel under your responsibility; * Supervising and certifying\-the safety and secure stowage of deck cargo; * Preparing the deck for cargo loading while maintaining vessel stability and operability; * Coordinating with the Chief Engineer regarding fuel and freshwater tank supply and consumption to maintain stability conditions; * Managing all liquid cargo and ballast distribution, preventing contamination of carried products and always maintaining the vessel within appropriate stress conditions; * Controlling vessel stability in accordance with international regulatory criteria; * Keeping safety and lifesaving manuals updated according to onboard equipment; * Conducting and coordinating training for cadets, interns, and new crew members in your department; * Participating in the Safety Committee (GSSTB); * Supervising Deck Officers’ duties and providing support upon request; * Performing watchkeeping duties when required; * Supervising or assigning personnel responsible for weekly inspections of habitable spaces per ILO 147\. Any non\-conformities must be recorded in the Management System for follow\-up and resolution. * Supervising the recording of logs and documents belonging to the deck and navigation departments, performing those tasks assigned to you; * Preparing required documentation mandated by port authorities at ports of call; * Executing and delegating routine maintenance tasks to subordinates; * Managing plans, manuals, and certificates for equipment under your responsibility; * Coordinating with the Chief Engineer on scheduled maintenance of auxiliary deck equipment, winches, cranes, etc.; * Executing and recording onboard waste management in compliance with current regulations. * Maintaining proper inventory of all deck department materials; * Issuing requisitions for supplies, repairs, or overhauls for the deck department; * Verifying and approving all modifications, repairs, and other services performed in the deck department; * Planning, directing, and supervising tank cleaning and preservation, taking measures to prevent environmental pollution; * Maintaining proper vessel inerting standards where applicable; * Enforcing the onboard alcohol and drug policy; * Managing the onboard hospital in the absence of medical personnel; * Acting as Ship Security Officer or substitute if designated; * Taking draft readings in port; * Assisting the Captain during port authority visits, surveys, and inspections; * Organizing port duty rosters and arranging access to the vessel; * Preventing unauthorized persons from remaining onboard; * Coordinating onboard activities to ensure compliance with group safety policies; * Assessing training needs for yourself and your team; * Planning dry docking and repairs jointly with the Captain, Chief Engineer, and Vessel Manager; * Assisting in vessel budget control; * Remaining onboard during port stays while embarked; * Confirming presence of all team members prior to departure from port; * Implementing actions and procedures to comply with the onboard pollution prevention and response plan; * Including all relevant and critical information in the handover report to the relieving Immediate Officer; * Being fully familiar with all emergency procedures; * Verifying validity of your “Maritime Health Certificate” and ensuring timely renewal prior to expiry; * Participating in integrated drills; * Working carefully and technically, using required PPE to perform duties safely and requiring others involved to do likewise; * Knowing your role and all others described in the vessel’s Emergency Drill Master Table; * Familiarizing yourself with the location and operation of vessel safety and lifesaving equipment; * Conducting risk assessments prior to deck activities and participating in risk assessments involving the entire crew. **Requirements** * Competency as required by STCW; * Bachelor’s degree in Nautical Sciences and/or completion of merchant marine officer training courses. * Technical knowledge of onboard equipment; * Knowledge of national and international codes governing your duties; * Familiarity with DOF Group policies; * STCW Certificate of Competency 1031 * TBS\- 1 (Unified Certificate \- former ECIN \+ EBPS \ + ESRS \ + ESPE) * Advanced Fire Fighting Specialization – ECIA * Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Specialization – ESPM or Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Course – CESS * ARPA Operator Specialization – EARP * General Radiocommunications Operator Specialization – EROG * Medical Care Specialization – ESCM or Specialized First Aid Medical Course – EPSM * Ship Security Officer Specialized Course – EOPN * Basic DP Course * Advanced DP Course * Full DP Course * ECDIS Operator Specialized Course – ECDIS * Bridge Resource Management Specialized Course for Officers – EGPO * Advanced English, both spoken and written; * Knowledge, competence, or qualification related to safety and pollution prevention; *Skills:* * Leadership skills; * Teamwork;
