As an **Expert \- Operations Research** at Mercado Libre, you will design and scale innovative and secure systems that solve real-world, high-impact problems. You will work in a dynamic environment with cutting-edge technology, applying engineering best practices, proprietary AI models, and continuous learning — all aimed at democratizing e-commerce and financial services across Latin America.
Imagine yourself spearheading challenging, dynamic, and innovative projects and **being responsible for:**
* Leading a highly qualified Operations Research team in developing optimization-based products.
* Providing optimization capabilities for Last Mile and First Mile projects operating across our logistics network.
* Identifying optimization opportunities for current products and actively contributing to defining their roadmap.
* Collaborating with the team throughout the solution design process from an integrated systems perspective, incorporating insights on models and algorithms.
* Maintaining a business-oriented perspective on our products and their roadmap, monitoring effective metrics, cost/benefit analyses, risk analyses, and impact projections aligned with Shipping Transport objectives.
* Playing an active role in designing, evolving, and improving processes in collaboration with Product, Operations, and Planning teams.
**What we’re looking for in you?**
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
* In-depth knowledge of Linear Programming (LP), Mixed Integer Programming (MIP), heuristics, and meta-heuristics.
* Experience solving combinatorial optimization problems in Operations Research.
* Familiarity with various data structures and algorithm design, as well as proficiency in programming languages such as C/C\+\+, Python, Java, Go, among others.
* Experience with commercial solvers (e.g., CPLEX, Gurobi, Xpress) or open-source solvers (e.g., GLPK, CBC, lp\_solve).
