The **Ramp Assistant** will perform ramp handling operations (sorting, loading, and unloading) for aircraft safely, efficiently, and punctually, ensuring process efficiency and reinforcing customers' perception of the company’s services related to baggage and cargo transportation, as well as flight punctuality. Assist with aircraft arrivals and departures, and perform aircraft cleaning when required. **This position is exclusively for the Porto Seguro Airport (BPS)!** ------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Responsibilities and Duties** * Supervise aircraft during arrivals and departures; * Inspect and supervise baggage and cargo labels; * Place and remove wheel chocks and cones on aircraft according to the Client Manual or dnata’s MGO; * Sort baggage and cargo volumes in airport sorting areas by reading identification labels (with or without technological assistance), directing them to appropriate storage devices (carts and/or ULDs) for correct flights; * Load baggage and cargo into aircraft holds following regulations and procedures outlined in the MGO, including special handling recommendations (e.g., fragile, hazardous, live animals, perishable items); * Unload baggage and cargo by reading volume identification labels and place them at designated locations (baggage reclaim carousels); * Sort baggage and cargo during aircraft unloading to facilitate flight connections by reading volume identification labels; * Inspect and monitor baggage and cargo packaging to ensure suitability for transport, thereby guaranteeing flight and handler safety; * Properly handle and allocate baggage and cargo into aircraft holds, observing internal restraint requirements and hold height safety limits; * Unload wheelchairs or baby strollers and place them at designated locations; * Perform equipment marshalling during coupling procedures with aircraft to prevent fuselage collisions; * Handle aircraft within established timeframes based on service type and airport classification; * Conduct checklists on non-motorized equipment to ensure operational safety and report equipment requiring repairs to the GSE Technical maintenance team; * Report any equipment irregularities during operations to supervisors. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed high school education; * Strong interpersonal communication skills; * Analytical ability to assess situations; * Stress tolerance; Physical requirements include broad and fine motor coordination, dexterity, upper and lower limb articulation, bipedal posture for performing tasks, trunk rotation and flexion, physical effort, and walking throughout the entire operational area. Sensory requirements include visual acuity for moving baggage from carousels to transport equipment, chocking, loading, and unloading aircraft with bags and cargo; signaling around the flight being serviced; floor inspection and scanning to retrieve dropped objects; and auditory perception to identify audible signals from equipment and machinery on the tarmac.
