Project analysis and cost optimization using Value Engineering. ### **JOB DESCRIPTION** * Technical Visit and Inspection: Assess the current condition of structures (silos, roofs, foundations) and machinery (dryers, elevators, conveyors). * Quantity Surveying (Take-off): Measure civil construction materials (concrete, steel), electrical panels, cables, automation systems, and handling equipment. * Project Analysis: Review renovation projects to identify structural intervention needs, such as foundation reinforcement or increased load capacity. * Equipment Quotation: Request quotations from manufacturers for new silos, dryers, pre-cleaning machines, conveyors, and aeration/monitoring systems. * Labor and Material Quotation: Obtain quotations for industrial assembly services, dismantling of old structures, and procurement of construction materials. * Unit Price Composition (CPU): Develop compositions for specific modernization services (e.g., dryer automation, temperature sensor installation). * BDI Calculation (Benefits and Indirect Expenses): Define applicable BDI for the renovation, considering risks associated with confined-space works, high-altitude assembly, and logistics. * Physical-Financial Schedule Development: Align cash flow with project phases, ensuring material payments (with long delivery lead times) occur according to field requirements. * Specialized Equipment Cost Definition: Include items such as truck scales, sampling systems, and thermometer automation. * Comparative Analysis (Renovation vs. New Construction): Evaluate whether modernizing the existing facility is financially advantageous compared to constructing a new one, focusing on return on investment (ROI). * Risk Analysis: Identify safety risks (NBR 16280\) and hidden costs in renovations, such as unexpected structural reinforcements or unplanned shutdowns. * Supplier Evaluation: Analyze technical proposals from manufacturers—not based solely on price, but also on future operational efficiency (energy consumption, drying capacity). * Final Budget Sheet Preparation: Present a detailed budget composition. * Review and Optimization: Propose technical alternatives to reduce costs (Value Engineering) without compromising facility safety or efficiency. ### **JOB REQUIREMENTS** * Academic and Technical Qualifications * Degree: Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (with strong civil engineering experience). * Specialization (Preferred): Postgraduate degree in Grain Storage Facility Engineering or related fields. * Knowledge of Technical Standards: In-depth knowledge of MAPA’s (Ministry of Agriculture) Normative Instruction No. 29/2011, governing certification and technical safety and quality requirements for grain storage facilities. * Quantity Surveying: Ability to read and interpret structural, foundation, electrical, and mechanical drawings (silos, dryers, belts, elevators). * Unit Price Composition (CPU): Experience creating compositions for specific renovation services (demolition, structural reinforcement, metal structure assembly). * Equipment Quotation: Market knowledge of grain storage equipment (dryers, cleaners, silos), including acquisition, transportation, and assembly costs. * Tools: Advanced Excel proficiency and budgeting software (e.g., Volare, OrçaFascio, SIENGE). * Existing Structure Diagnostics: Ability to budget structural reinforcements for concrete and corroded metal structures. * Flow Optimization: Understanding of "organic project" improvements, optimizing space distribution and material flow to enhance receiving/shipping efficiency. * Technological Updates: Budgeting for replacement of outdated equipment with modern automation systems, rapid drying, and pest control solutions aimed at reducing losses. ### **ADDITIONAL INFORMATION** **Contract Type:** PJ
