**Data Governance and Data Lake Analyst**
We are seeking a professional responsible for ensuring that Data Lake data is findable, trustworthy, secure, and usable—through cataloging, metadata, data quality, access control, and compliance processes and tools—enabling the creation of data products and data-informed decision-making across business areas.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Manage catalog and metadata: Oversee data cataloging; ensure completeness and quality of metadata; define business glossaries and domains; engage data owners and stewards.
* Govern access and security: Implement and maintain user roles and permissions in the Data Lake.
* Data Quality (DQ): Define data quality rules and SLAs/SLOs (completeness, accuracy, consistency, uniqueness, timeliness).
* Data lineage and trustworthiness: Maintain technical and business lineage.
* Medallion architecture in the Lake: Support implementation of Bronze/Silver/Gold layers, ensuring governance standards and consumption patterns.
* Risk and compliance management: Assess data risks and controls, propose mitigations, and ensure adherence to LGPD/GDPR and internal policies.
* Processes and policies: Develop and maintain governance policies, standards, and procedures (metadata, DQ, access, MDM, data incidents), with clear RACI and defined roles/responsibilities.
* Data-driven culture: Lead training sessions and workshops; support business areas in adopting best practices; promote data maturity evolution.
* PoCs and continuous improvement: Lead PoCs for governance/lineage/DQ tools and prioritize improvements jointly with technical teams.
**Required Qualifications**
* Proven experience in Data Governance within Data Lake / Lakehouse environments.
* Hands-on experience with market-standard catalog/metadata/data lineage tools.
* Experience designing data quality metrics: defining rules, SLAs, etc.
* Knowledge of medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
* Experience defining governance metrics/KPIs.
* Familiarity with Power BI or other visualization platforms.
* Experience with agile methodologies, clear documentation, and backlog management.
* Strong communication, influence, and prioritization skills—with autonomy and ownership mindset.
* Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK and privacy regulations (LGPD/GDPR).
* SQL proficiency for validation and diagnostics (Athena/Redshift).
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or Systems Analysis—or currently pursuing one.
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience with MDM (Master Data Management).
* Experience in AWS environments and Parquet/Delta Lake formats; or Apache Iceberg on EMR/Glue.
