We are looking for a Staff Engineer with a focus on Artificial Intelligence to, within Core Engineering, help take AI seriously across the entire company—not as an ad-hoc assistant, but as a platform, practice, and culture. This is a new initiative, offering real space to define direction on a topic that still lacks a ready-made playbook. **\#SejaBemober** **Responsibilities and Duties** * Build and evolve the internal AI platform—the shared layer (model routing, prompt versioning, tool registration, memory, observability, and cost management), separate from each team’s solutions, with a paved path and self-service capabilities for both technical and non-technical teams. * Own end-to-end architectural decisions for agent-based systems: orchestration, state management, idempotency, retry/durability, RAG, model selection and routing, build vs. buy—planning, executing, and observing. * Measure AI solution effectiveness (RAG effectiveness, agent reliability, hallucination rate) using evaluation and regression datasets, leveraging metrics to drive decisions—not just monitoring. * Share knowledge and raise the company’s AI bar: training sessions, documentation, and best practices that scale AI usage beyond the engineering team, translating non-technical needs into practical solutions. * Engage directly in strategic projects, hands-on coding for high-impact, short-deadline deliverables when it moves a key business metric. * Make and document architectural decisions clearly, including trade-offs, costs, and impact. * Promote observability, security, and performance culture in AI solutions. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Solid foundation in distributed systems and cloud architecture, with end-to-end ownership (planning, execution, and observability). * Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Go and Python are primary in this area; relevant experience in Java/Kotlin is also valued). * Hands-on experience with generative AI / LLMs, including fundamentals: RAG, MCP, and agent orchestration (using market frameworks or custom solutions). * Ability to evaluate and measure AI effectiveness (groundedness/faithfulness, evaluation datasets, regression)—building and validating whether it works. * Strong communication and technical leadership: fluent across teams, serving both technical and non-technical internal customers, influencing through reasoning—not hierarchy. * Critical and strategic mindset to operate in an area without established recipes. * Continuous learning mindset, with autonomous upskilling in AI. **Nice-to-Haves** * Go and Python as primary stack; AWS experience. * Proven self-directed curiosity: PoCs, personal projects, exploration beyond formal work (those who build AI—not just use it daily). * Experience building custom connectors/MCPs and durable agent orchestration (patterns like Temporal/Hatchet: state checkpointing, replay, idempotency). * Practical experience in AI system evaluation, observability, and security. * Experience treating internal platforms as products (focus on the consumer). * Experience in digital payments / high-scale fintech. **What We Value in This Profile** * Builds—not just adopts: dives deep, runs own PoCs, stays autonomously updated.
