We value those who roll up their sleeves and **take ownership!** **What we expect from you:** **Responsibilities** --------------------- Architecture and design (across all domains) * Define the evolution architecture of Bling’s public API: standards (REST/GraphQL/events), versioning, deprecation policy, pagination, idempotency, error handling, authentication, and scopes. * Design Bling’s MCP strategy: which resources to expose, authentication model and governance, security limits, and integration with the existing architecture. * Define the architecture of embedded AI assistants and agents: orchestration, function calling/tool use, RAG, evals, and guardrails. * Write RFCs and architectural decision records (ADRs) that guide the tribe’s technical choices. Research and prototyping * Closely track the evolution of standards and technologies (MCP, API specifications, LLMs and agent frameworks, developer experience practices) and anticipate their impact on Bling. * Build PoCs and spikes to reduce risk before committing engineering time to architectural decisions. * Rigorously evaluate tradeoffs and ground recommendations in data and experiments. Developer experience, AI, and scalability * Ensure an exceptional developer experience (DX) for the API: SDKs, documentation, sandbox, consistent standards. * Establish evaluation (evals), guardrail, cost control, and quality practices for AI products. * Define observability, rate limiting, caching, and resilience strategies at scale. Technical uplift of the team * Mentor engineers, conduct high-level code reviews, and disseminate best practices across all domains. **Required qualifications** --------------------------- * Deep professional experience designing and operating production-scale APIs.
