An ophthalmology clinic is seeking a Hospital Receptionist in Rio de Janeiro (Barra da Tijuca). **Responsibilities:** Perform initial patient and companion reception, ensuring humanized care, organizing the clinical workflow, and correctly directing requests to contribute to the operational efficiency of the healthcare unit. Greet patients and companions courteously and humanely. Register and update patient data in the system. Verify personal documents, referral forms, and medical requests. Open patient records (outpatient, emergency, or inpatient). Guide patients regarding procedures, schedules, and preparation for examinations and treatments. Direct patients to appropriate departments (consultation rooms, examinations, surgical center, inpatient units). Contact health insurance providers to verify eligibility (where applicable) and issue referral forms according to ANS regulations. Manage waiting lines and control the order of service. Answer telephone calls and provide institutional information. Support administrative processes at the reception desk. Ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information. Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist, Clinic Attendant, Health Secretary, or Hospital Administrative Assistant may indicate suitability for some of the duties associated with this position. High school diploma required.
