Field Assistant

Description

Job Summary: Perform auxiliary services across various operational areas, primarily in geology, supporting sampling activities, field logistics, and geochemical and geophysical surveys. Key Responsibilities: 1. Assist in geochemical sampling of soil, rock, and sediment. 2. Support activities related to terrestrial geophysics and exploration geochemistry. 3. Ensure safety, environmental protection, and equipment maintenance. Perform auxiliary services across the company's diverse operational areas, primarily in geology, according to operational needs, characteristics, and functions, always aligned with requirements and instructions from the immediate supervisor; may be temporarily assigned or transferred to another area without prior notice. * Assist in geochemical sampling of soil, rock, and sediment from streams. * Assist in organizing and performing development-related tasks at the sample warehouse (chips, core samples, soil and rock sample aliquots). * Assist in logistics for controlling field team materials and tools. * Assist in opening trails and trenches for exploration. * Assist in clearing access routes and exploration areas. * Collect, package, and transport field samples. * Perform tasks related to terrestrial geophysics and exploration geochemistry. * Select appropriate tools for quality sampling. * Collect, bag, and label samples according to instructions from the responsible technician or geologist overseeing the mapping team. * Ensure environmental care, complying with applicable socio-environmental norms and procedures. * Assist geologists and geological technicians in sampling, geological mapping, geophysical data acquisition, and topographic surveys. * Organize sampling equipment and collect samples. * Assist in geological mapping and topographic surveying. * Assist geologists and geological technicians in preparing and handling core boxes, performing tasks inherent to core sample description procedures. * Assist in cleaning the warehouse and office when requested. * Collect samples obtained from drilling, in accordance with the requested sampling plan. * Complete sample shipment records for the laboratory, following operational procedures for exploration. * Deliver and ensure the quality of samples sent to the laboratory. * Assist in transporting samples. * Perform other related tasks of equivalent complexity. * Safeguard, maintain, preserve, and clean tools, machinery, equipment, and materials specific to the work, as well as the locations where services are performed. * Carry out duties under strict adherence to occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures. * Fulfill tasks outlined in the occupational safety program. * Perform other duties compatible with this position, within this or other departments.
