Inspect and prepare surfaces through cleaning, sanding, degreasing, application of filler, sealers, and primers to ensure paint adhesion and durability; Prepare and mix paints, varnishes, and other coatings according to manufacturers' recommended ratios and dilutions and project specifications; Apply industrial paint to metal structures using appropriate techniques for each type of paint and surface (spray gun, roller, brush); Perform final finishing, touch-ups, and repainting as needed, correcting imperfections; Control paint quality, uniformity, color tone, and absence of defects (runs, bubbles, stains); Perform cleaning and preventive maintenance of painting equipment (spray guns, compressors, mixers) to ensure proper operation; Request calibration of equipment whenever necessary; Request materials required for various tasks, reporting missing items to initiate procurement actions and thereby avoid delays and service interruptions, among other duties inherent to the role.
