Senior Data Scientist

Description

We are seeking a **Senior Data Scientist** to work with one of our strategic clients in the financial sector / payment methods, contributing to the development of analytical models and Machine Learning solutions that support strategic and operational decisions. We seek a technically skilled, analytical professional with strong business acumen, capable of owning end-to-end responsibilities—from data exploration and modeling to communicating results to diverse stakeholders. **Responsibilities and duties** * Develop, validate, and enhance statistical and Machine Learning models, ensuring performance, stability, and explainability * Conduct end-to-end analyses: exploration, preparation, modeling, and delivery * Apply predictive modeling, clustering, anomaly detection, and forecasting techniques to business problems * Work with large-scale datasets, ensuring quality, integrity, and statistical consistency * Address strategic use cases by translating business needs into data-driven analytical solutions * Support model deployment into production in collaboration with data engineering and MLOps teams * Communicate results and insights clearly to both technical and business audiences * Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, analytics, product, and business) **Requirements and qualifications** * Experience in predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis * Proficiency in Python and/or R and ML libraries (scikit\-learn, TensorFlow, etc.) * Experience with clustering, anomaly detection, and forecasting techniques * Familiarity with the Databricks platform for ML deployment is preferred * Ability to translate analytical results into actionable business insights * Strong SQL skills for manipulation and analysis of large-scale datasets * Hands-on experience with complementary data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, XGBoost, PyTorch or similar) * Knowledge of feature engineering and, preferably, feature stores * Experience with PySpark and distributed data processing * Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably Azure (Azure ML, ADLS, Data Factory) * Knowledge of MLOps practices (model versioning, deployment, monitoring), with hands-on experience in MLflow or similar tools * Ability to conduct analyses autonomously, with critical thinking and business-oriented perspective * Strong communication skills, adaptable to diverse audiences **Desirable:** * Experience with transactional data and/or fraud prevention * Experience in regulated or high-criticality environments * Knowledge of visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau or similar) * Postgraduate degree, master’s, or doctorate in quantitative fields (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related disciplines) **Additional information** * Competitive compensation based on experience; * Opportunities for career growth and participation in strategic projects; * Dynamic and challenging work environment; * Opportunity to work with a rapidly expanding company in the market.
