**What success looks like in this role:** * Develop, maintain, and test COBOL solutions to meet business needs; * Define functional and non-functional requirements; * Design detailed technical solutions, estimate effort and delivery timelines; * Write code and perform unit and integration testing, fix defects, and optimize code performance; * Promote and implement software development and maintenance best practices, provide technical guidance to the team, encourage innovation and continuous improvement; * Ensure compliance with security standards and applicable software development regulations; * Conduct impact analyses for proposed changes, ensuring all stakeholders are aware of implications. * Knowledge and experience in application development using COBOL (minimum 7 years) * Knowledge and experience working in teams using agile methodologies such as SCRUM or Kanban * Bachelor's degree: Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields; * Knowledge of code quality and mainframe application performance analysis; * Soft Skills: Collaboration, proactivity, empathy, adaptability, initiative, time management, communication, leadership, emotional intelligence. **Nice to have:** * Experience developing in Unisys mainframe environments, COMS, DMSII, SDF, CANDE * Knowledge of automated unit and integration testing (TDD/ATDD) for COBOL routines; * Knowledge of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD); * Knowledge of integration technologies (e.g., APIs, Web Services). * Experience mentoring and training developers; * Knowledge of visual modeling and prototyping tools; * Experience with SQL (Structured Query Language) **You will be successful in this role if you have:** Between 4 and 7 years of experience Unisys is proud to be an equal opportunity employer that considers all qualified applicants without regard to age, caste, citizenship, color, disability, family medical history, family status, ethnicity, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, marital status, national origin, parental status, pregnancy, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, transgender status, veteran status or any other category protected by law.
