Development of solutions for the future of railway onboard systems. **Job Description** **This position is based in São Luís, MA.** **Who will you work with?** Currently, the Onboard Engineering team consists of engineers and analysts who collaboratively engage directly with customers and development teams to understand railway requirements and guide the future of onboard systems in Brazilian railways. **How will you make a difference?** Collaborate with customers during PTC project implementation, ensuring technical alignment and supporting field and office activities. Conduct failure analyses, defect corrections, maintenance control, and provide technical support for PTC systems to customers. Develop and execute test plans during project implementation phases. Prepare and maintain procedures and manuals related to PTC onboard system operation. Interact with Wabtec’s global teams, supporting the deployment of new systems and projects in Brazilian railways. **What do we want to know about you?** * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Control and Automation Engineering. * Solid experience in embedded systems applied to the railway industry. * Experience with railway signaling systems, especially PTC and I-ETMS. * Experience in failure analysis, defect correction, and technical support for railway systems. * Ability to develop, review, and interpret electrical and electronic schematics. * Proven experience in preparing technical documentation, including schematics, specifications, and manuals. * Ability to conduct software and hardware testing in operational environments. * Experience with software lifecycle management tools and requirement traceability tools. * Advanced or fluent English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to define, monitor, and analyze system performance indicators and controls. * Ability to lead technical meetings and discussions in collaborative environments with international teams. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Willingness to travel and work onsite at railways. **What will your day-to-day look like?** * Collaborate with internal and external project teams to identify, analyze, and resolve issues during PTC project implementation. * Ensure structured documentation of identified issues, preparing technical reports and performance indicators (KPIs) for control and performance improvement. * Develop documents, manuals, and instructions for the PTC onboard system, providing technical guidance to railway operations and maintenance teams. * Work jointly with the systems team to define technical solutions and onboard software updates for PTC projects. * Plan, coordinate, and execute functional field tests to validate PTC system operation. **Benefits:** At Wabtec, people come first.
