The Historian position at CAIXA involves conducting surveys and historiography of material evidence present in the CAIXA Collection, including interpreting and periodically writing articles that highlight the historical context of items, groupings, and collections. The professional will also assist external researchers on historical matters, conduct research to produce content for exhibitions and dissemination of the collection, and deliver theoretical and conceptual presentations to specific audiences. Additional responsibilities include analyzing existing historical content, interacting with museologists and archivists on matters related to the collection, and collaborating in the development or revision of the museological plan coordinated by CAIXA. To apply for this position, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in History or a postgraduate degree in History, Art History, or Social Sciences, recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC); Have completed a short-term or technical course in museums and cultural heritage with a minimum workload of 60 hours; and demonstrate experience in historical research through publication of an article in a technical or scientific journal, editorial publication of a technical/scientific work, or a professional qualification certificate. Additionally, candidates must possess intermediate-level computer skills (Windows, Office suite, image editing, and document publishing) and basic knowledge of planning and executing interdisciplinary activities and processes.
