Description

We are a Brazilian company present in your daily life — from Shell service stations and products, always on your path, to the production of sugar, ethanol, and renewable energy. Here, safety, integrity, collaboration, and simplification define how we work. With over 30,000 people, we jointly build an integrated ecosystem spanning from sugarcane cultivation in the field to the production and commercialization of ethanol, sugar, and bioenergy. We also operate, under license from the Shell brand, the distribution of fuels, lubricants, and specialties across Brazil. If you are a resilient person who moves with speed, embraces challenges as opportunities, and believes collaboration is the way forward, Raízen may be the right place for you. Here, learning comes through practice, and work gains greater meaning when done together. All our job openings are open to people of any affective-sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, age, with or without disabilities. What matters here is the desire to grow, contribute, and make a difference. We are seeking an **SRE Specialist | Platform Engineering** to drive the evolution of cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and corporate automation. This role will play a strategic part in building scalable, resilient, and modern solutions, directly supporting the company’s technological transformation. The professional will be responsible for evolving the corporate Kubernetes platform, automation, observability, GitOps, and internal platform architecture — supporting development and infrastructure teams in adopting best practices in engineering, reliability, and operations. This position will focus heavily on Azure and AWS environments, Kubernetes (AKS/EKS), GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, modern observability, and SRE practices — always pursuing operational efficiency, scalability, security, and continuous improvement of the platform. **Responsibilities and duties** **WHAT YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL LOOK LIKE:** * Evolve and maintain the corporate Kubernetes platform (AKS/EKS), ensuring scalability, security, and high availability of environments; * Build and enhance infrastructure and operations automation using Infrastructure as Code and GitOps practices; * Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, supporting teams in their continuous delivery journey; * Implement observability, monitoring, and distributed tracing solutions to ensure service visibility and reliability; * Address critical incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement continuous improvements to the platform; * Support development teams in adopting best practices for cloud, Kubernetes, observability, and automation; * Evolve the internal engineering platform, enhancing developer experience and accelerating business value delivery; * Implement and optimize autoscaling strategies, capacity management, and operational efficiency in cloud environments; * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define architectural standards, security, and governance for Azure and AWS environments; * Evaluate, test, and implement new solutions and technologies focused on Platform Engineering, SRE, and corporate automation. **Requirements and qualifications** **WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:** **Mandatory Requirements:** * Completed undergraduate degree; * Solid experience administering and evolving Kubernetes environments, preferably managed platforms such as AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) and/or EKS (Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service); * Experience in public cloud environments, operating on Azure and/or AWS, including infrastructure, networking, and security services; * Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices using tools such as GitHub Actions or similar; * Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), using Terraform, Crossplane, or equivalent tools for infrastructure provisioning and governance; * Experience with modern observability, monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing solutions using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Loki, Tempo, or similar; * Strong knowledge of Linux, containers, and Docker, including troubleshooting and optimization of containerized environments; * Experience with automation and script development using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or equivalent languages; * Knowledge of networking, DNS, load balancers, connectivity, and security in cloud environments; * Ability to analyze and resolve issues in distributed, mission-critical environments; * Experience building, maintaining, and evolving corporate platforms, with a focus on reliability, scalability, automation, and developer team experience. **Desirable Requirements:** * Experience with ArgoCD and the GitOps ecosystem; * Knowledge of Argo Workflows and Argo Events for process orchestration and automation; * Experience with Karpenter, Cluster Autoscaler, or other advanced Kubernetes scaling solutions; * Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio, Linkerd, or similar; * Knowledge of FinOps, capacity management, and cloud cost optimization; * Experience with AIOps initiatives, intelligent automation, and AI applications in platform operations; * Knowledge of Terragrunt, Crossplane, and advanced infrastructure management tools; * Experience with distributed observability, tracing, and large-scale application performance analysis; * Experience with hybrid architectures and multi-cloud environments. **Additional information** **SELECTION PROCESS STEPS:** Our process includes four main stages (additional stages may apply, and you’ll be informed if you advance): * Application: completing this form and providing additional data if required. * Intelligent Interview: in this stage, you’ll participate in an **audio interview supported by artificial intelligence**, a technology that helps us make the process faster and more standardized. Your responses will be reviewed by the **recruitment team**, alongside other process stages. * HR Interview: a conversation to get to know each other. * Leadership Interview: a more technical discussion to further explain day-to-day responsibilities and challenges. *Our communication will be via email and phone — please verify that your contact details are up to date.* We operate in ethanol and sugar production and fuel, product, and service distribution through the licensed Shell brand in Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay.
