An AFIS\-Officer provides flight information service, alerting service, and weather observation service to aircraft prior to departure, on maneuvering areas at non\-controlled aerodromes, and to aircraft within traffic information zones and traffic information areas within the unit’s area of responsibility. Key responsibilities include: Providing flight information service, surveillance service, alerting service, and weather observation service within defined areas of responsibility, in accordance with applicable general regulations and supplementary local instructions and directives Completing refresher training to maintain authorizations Proposing service-related changes and improvements to one’s supervisor, in line with developments within aviation sectors relevant to the unit’s operational scope, where such changes are deemed desirable or necessary Proposing safety improvements in accordance with Avinor Flysikring AS’s safety management system procedures Reporting aviation accidents and incidents in accordance with Avinor Flysikring AS’s safety management system and applicable regulations Conducting theoretical and practical training for newly trained operational personnel and operational personnel undergoing transfer training Participating in project work and other professional duties at the unit Qualifications required Successful completion of an approved AFIS training program Successful completion of the basic course for meteorological observation service Extended/comprehensive police certificate and approved background check Possession of, or ability to obtain, relevant security clearance Possession of, or ability to obtain, necessary authorizations related to the type of service to be performed Meeting current medical fitness requirements for AFIS Officers Language proficiency in Norwegian and English, in accordance with current requirements for issuance of authorization certificates.
