**About the position**
**General description:**
We are seeking an Operational Excellence Intern.
The intern will support and assist engineering and maintenance teams in developing CAD-based projects related to industrial improvements, machinery, industrial processes, and ergonomics. This includes monitoring production processes through key variables at each manufacturing stage, analyzing existing procedures to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. The intern will seek technological solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, improve quality, and optimize productive capacity. Responsibilities also include assisting in product and process documentation development, supporting production staff training, and managing necessary changes to sustain improvements over time.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting the improvement and development of process safety and ergonomics measures through technology, automation systems, and work procedures;
* Conducting time studies on processes to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities, with emphasis on material handling and idle time;
* Assisting in preparing process sheets, routing instructions, and parameterization;
* Supporting employee training and capacity building through technical assistance, helping them understand implemented changes and adopt new practices and procedures;
* Assisting in creating technical drawings and 3D models;
* Participating in prototype analysis and testing;
* Participating in root cause analyses related to production plan disruptions, equipment failures, and other issues impacting production costs; suggesting and implementing technical solutions.
**Requirements:**
**Academic background:**
Currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering and/or Production Engineering.
**Knowledge**
Project planning and control; Microsoft Office or similar software; CAD tools; Use of forms, spreadsheets, and charts; Process engineering methodology; Production processes including wire drawing, metal forming, and steel characteristics; Digitalization and Industry 4\.0\.
