Restoration and repair of antique or damaged furniture Job Description: Carpentry services involve designing, maintaining, and restoring wooden items such as furniture, decorative structures, and other custom objects. Carpenters use tools and machinery to cut, shape, and assemble wood, applying finishes including sanding, sealers, varnishes, or paints. **Primary Activities and Services of a Carpenter:** * **Planning and Design:** Interpreting technical drawings and sketches, planning production stages, and designing furniture according to client specifications. * **Furniture Manufacturing:** Creating items such as tables, chairs, doors, cabinets, drawers, and built-in furniture (planning, cutting, sanding, and assembly). * **Material Handling:** Cutting and preparing solid wood, MDF, MDP, plywood, and laminated panels. * **Assembly and Installation:** On-site furniture assembly (in residences or offices), installing shelves and cabinets, and ensuring precise fitting. * **Finishing:** Sanding, applying varnishes, paints, sealers, and installing hardware (hinges, handles, drawer slides). * **Restoration and Repair:** Repairing antique or damaged furniture to restore both functionality and original appearance.
