A **Ramp Assistant** will perform ramp handling operations (sorting, loading, and unloading) for aircraft safely, efficiently, and punctually, ensuring process efficiency and contributing to customers’ perception of the company’s services regarding baggage and cargo transportation and flight punctuality. Assist with aircraft arrivals and departures, and perform aircraft cleaning when necessary. **This position is exclusively for the Porto Seguro Airport (BPS)!** ------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Responsibilities and Duties** * Monitor the aircraft during arrivals and departures; * Inspect and monitor baggage and cargo labels; * Place and remove wheel chocks and cones on aircraft according to the Client Manual or dnata’s MGO; * Sort baggage and cargo volumes in airport sorting areas by reading identification labels (with or without technological assistance), aiming to load them onto appropriate storage devices (carts and/or ULDs) for correct flights; * Stow baggage and cargo in aircraft holds following norms and procedures outlined in the MGO, including recommendations for special situations (fragile, dangerous, live animals, perishable cargo); * Unload baggage and cargo by reading volume identification labels, placing them at designated locations (baggage reclaim carousels); * Sort baggage and cargo during aircraft unloading to facilitate flight connections by reading volume identification labels; * Inspect and supervise baggage and cargo packaging to verify compliance with transport requirements, ensuring flight and handler safety; * Correctly handle and allocate baggage and cargo into aircraft holds, observing internal restraint and hold height safety limits; * Unload wheelchairs or baby strollers, placing them at designated locations; * Guide ground equipment during coupling procedures with aircraft to prevent fuselage collisions; * Perform aircraft handling within established timeframes per handling type and airport classification; * Conduct pre-use checks on non-motorized equipment to ensure operational safety and report defective equipment to the GSE Technical Maintenance team; * Report any equipment anomalies occurring during operations to supervisors. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed high school education; * Strong interpersonal communication skills; * Analytical ability in assessing situations; * Stress resistance; Physical requirements include broad and fine motor coordination, dexterity, upper and lower limb articulation, bipedal standing posture for performing tasks, trunk rotation and flexion, physical effort, and walking throughout the entire operational area. Sensory requirements include visual acuity for moving baggage from carousels to transport equipment, chocking, aircraft loading and unloading with luggage and cargo, signaling around the flight being handled, floor inspection and scanning to collect fallen objects, and auditory perception to identify audible signals from equipment and machinery on the tarmac.
