Job Description As a **Senior Mining Planning Engineer**, you will be responsible for planning, detailing, and controlling short-term mining activities, ensuring alignment between medium- and long-term plans. You will focus on safety, operational efficiency, cost optimization, and compliance with legal, environmental, and quality requirements, supporting decision-making through technical analysis and performance indicators. **Key Responsibilities:** * Develop and review short-term mining plans (monthly and weekly), covering pit geometry, mining sequencing, ore and waste movement, and quality control; * Ensure operational execution complies with geotechnical parameters, guaranteeing stability and safety of mining faces; * Plan and monitor topographic layout of mining advances, both within the pit and in external areas; * Lead operational alignment meetings (line\-up) with mining, geology, and geotechnical teams, promoting integration and sound decision-making; * Monitor daily plan execution, assess deviations, and propose corrective actions to ensure production targets are met; * Provide technical support to operations, advising teams on best practices and necessary adjustments to planning; * Develop operational instructions and conduct periodic plan reviews to enhance operational predictability and efficiency; * Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), such as plan adherence, productivity, ore quality, and material movement; * Perform volumetric calculations, stockpile measurements, and production reconciliations, ensuring consistency between planned and actual results; * Identify and manage operational interferences (infrastructure, drainage, access routes, etc.), mitigating impacts on plan execution; * Develop geometric designs for access routes, ramps, and waste dumps, contributing to operational layout optimization; * Apply analytical approaches to interpret operational data, identifying risks, trends, and improvement opportunities. Qualifications **Ideal candidate profile for this position:** * Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering and/or Production Engineering. * Active registration with CREA. * Experience in open-pit mining, specifically in short-term mining planning. * Proficiency in mining planning software (e.g., Deswik, Minesight, or similar). * Desired experience with Power BI for dashboard development and operational indicator monitoring.
