




Job Summary: The Primary Care Physician is responsible for providing primary and preventive medical care, leading and improving family health initiatives through a multidisciplinary approach. Participate in the planning of teaching activities The **Vila Fátima University Extension Center** was built and consolidated over 40 years and is located in the Bom Jesus neighborhood, serving the local community. Through a partnership between PUCRS and the Municipality of Porto Alegre, its actions toward the community and the health care network have expanded, receiving resources from Brazil's Unified Health System (SUS). High-quality services are offered across various fields, including education, law, health, social assistance, and social development. Faculty members from diverse undergraduate programs and their students work at Vila Fátima, gaining the opportunity to engage daily with the realities and needs of the population. **About the Position:** The **Primary Care Physician** is responsible for delivering primary and preventive medical care to patients. Their challenge is to lead and improve family health initiatives, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Know and disseminate, together with other professionals, guidelines and regulations on Primary Health Care (PHC), emphasizing the National Primary Health Care Policy, to organize workflow at the Health Unit (US); * Provide health care to individuals and families under their responsibility; * Discuss, together with the multidisciplinary team, care processes to analyze and optimize them; * Conduct clinical consultations, minor surgical procedures, group activities at the Basic Health Unit (UBS), and, when indicated or necessary, home visits and/or activities in other community spaces (e.g., schools, associations); * Refer users to other levels of care when necessary, respecting local referral pathways while maintaining responsibility for follow-up on the prescribed therapeutic plan; * Ensure compliance with International Patient Safety Goals and actively participate in and commit to quality and safety in health care; * Indicate the need for hospital or home-based admission while remaining responsible for follow-up on the patient; * Perform risk stratification and develop care plans for people with chronic conditions in the area, in collaboration with other team members; * Supervise medical students/residents; * Participate in planning teaching activities/practices carried out at the service in conjunction with faculty; * Coordinate and participate in continuing professional development and ongoing education activities; * Maintain the workplace and materials clean and organized, following institutional protocols. **Requirements and Qualifications** **Requirements:** * Completed Medical Degree. * Experience in Primary Health Care. **Preferred Qualification:** * Specialization in Family Health. **Specific Skills and Competencies:** * Strong communication skills * Agility * Organizational skills * Resilience * Interpersonal relationship skills * Proactivity * Multidisciplinary team management * Interest in technical development; * Self-motivation and genuine enthusiasm (“spark in the eyes”). **Additional Information** **Working Hours:** Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. **Benefits:** * Health insurance * Dental insurance * Daycare reimbursement for children up to 4 years old * Education assistance covering up to 80% of undergraduate tuition fees and 50% of postgraduate tuition fees * Free parking * Complementary private pension plan *If you believe in meaningful work that creates value and generates positive impact for society and the University****, JOIN PUCRS!*** At PUCRS, we believe every person can transform the world—and this belief drives us every day to become everything we can be.
