Responsibilities:
* Adhere to the laboratory’s code of ethics;
* Use PPE and engineering controls per biosafety training;
* Comply with biosafety regulations.
* Collect biological samples;
* Prepare materials required for external collections;
* Perform external biological sample collections;
* Perform biological sample triage (forward samples from collection rooms and reception to technical departments; label samples from external collections; centrifuge and transfer samples between departments);
* Print daily work maps in the Laboratory Information System (LIS);
* Restock materials in collection rooms;
* Assist technicians, as requested, in performing tests in Hematology, Coagulation, Microbiology, Urinalysis, Washing, Parasitology, Biochemistry, and sending tests to support laboratories;
* Monitor timing for serial collections using the clock;
* Restock materials, as requested, in Hematology, Coagulation, Microbiology, Urinalysis, Washing, Parasitology, and Biochemistry departments;
* Record sector forms per the Quality Assurance System;
* Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of laboratory equipment.
* Ensure safety for yourself, clients, visitors, and the environment;
* Perform external services at companies, banks, and post offices (when necessary);
* Store processed samples;
* Dispose of processed and stored samples;
* Request and control collection, hygiene, and cleaning supplies;
* Perform equipment washing;
* Perform material sterilization activities;
* Check water levels in water baths;
* Maintain order in administrative tasks within the department;
* Empty trash bins and clean common laboratory areas when necessary (e.g., absence of the designated cleaning staff);
* Keep the department clean and organized;
Requirements:
* Completed high school education;
* Currently pursuing higher education in related fields such as Biomedicine or Pharmacy (Biochemistry);
* Driver’s license Category B;
* Availability for various shifts;
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior experience in clinical laboratories or compounding pharmacies
Additional Information:
* Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday — 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM; Wednesday and Friday — 4:30 AM to 10:30 AM; Saturdays — 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM (Schedule may change based on demand on specified days);
* Salary: To be determined
* Location: Downtown, Jaraguá do Sul — SC
