We are seeking a Mechanic I to perform activities including conducting preventive maintenance inspections and 500-, 1000-, and 2000-hour inspections according to maintenance plans, as well as carrying out minor repairs necessary for equipment operation.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
Receive instructions from the Department Supervisor regarding services to be performed on equipment, fully understanding details to be observed, in order to execute work according to requirements.
Report to the supervisor any defects identified in equipment components to enable corrective or recovery work.
Disassemble and reassemble equipment brake systems, replacing damaged parts and performing necessary adjustments while complying with safety requirements.
Perform, under supervision, engine adjustments, including distributor and spark plug replacement, as well as required adjustments, to meet technical specifications for proper equipment operation.
Disassemble and reassemble, under supervision, equipment steering systems, checking and correcting clearances, replacing or arranging recovery of parts as needed, while complying with safety requirements for equipment mobility.
Remove engine and transmission gearbox if necessary, replacing damaged parts and performing adjustments to prevent transmission system damage caused by component failure or equipment downtime.
Assist qualified mechanics during disassembly and assembly of engines, gearboxes, and differentials to expedite departmental work and acquire technical and practical knowledge for performing such tasks.
Assist qualified mechanics in preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment cooling systems, replacing belts, hoses, and conduits, and cleaning radiators to prevent water and oil leaks that could impair or damage respective components.
Request supervisor authorization for part replacement, reuse, or recovery during component disassembly to avoid unnecessary expenses from replacing parts still fit for use.
Consult manufacturer parts catalogs and service manuals, observing and verifying technical specifications for component disassembly, assembly, and parts requisition.
Wash equipment and disassemble/reassemble hydraulic cylinders per received requests and instructions.
Assist in conducting minor post-maintenance tests on equipment and drive support vehicles for external service when required.
Complete spare parts requisition forms according to preventive and corrective maintenance inspections.
Complete the daily log for the mobile maintenance vehicle.
Complete service reports based on performed activities, collect customer signatures for appropriate follow-up actions, and forward reports to the supervisor.
Observe and comply with applicable safety procedures for each maintenance task, implementing safety isolations and requesting/performing necessary lockouts.
**Requirements and Qualifications**
Incomplete Elementary Education
CNH Category B driver's license
