Job Summary: At Dimatelas, the Metalworker is responsible for transforming raw materials into finished products, requiring technical proficiency in welding and blueprint reading, as well as precision in finishing. The **Metalworker** at Dimatelas is the professional responsible for transforming raw\-material into our final products (panels, gates, and metal structures). We seek a candidate with technical proficiency in blueprint reading and welding processes, who values cutting accuracy and the strength and aesthetics of the finish. **Main Responsibilities** * **Production and Assembly:** Cut, bend, drill, and assemble metal structures according to technical drawings or work orders. * **Welding Processes:** Operate welding machines (MIG and Shielded Metal Arc Welding), ensuring perfect fusion and structural strength of components. * **Blueprint Reading:** Interpret technical drawings and dimensional specifications (millimeters, inches, and gauges) to ensure product fidelity. * **Finishing:** Perform grinding and preparation of welded surfaces for the painting department, removing slag and burrs. * **Equipment Care:** Maintain machines, tools, and workbenches organized and in good working condition. **Safety:** Mandatory use of PPE and strict adherence to safety regulations to prevent accidents in the metalworking environment. · **Welding Proficiency:** Practical knowledge of MIG/MAG and Shielded Metal Arc Welding, ensuring deep penetration and clean weld beads. · **Drawing Reading and Interpretation:** Ability to read sketches and technical drawings, respecting scales, dimensions, and welding symbols. · **Cutting Machine Operation:** Precise handling of angle grinders, bench drills, and, if required, shears and bending machines. · **Applied Metrology:** Full mastery of measuring tools (tape measure, caliper, and square) to ensure components remain within tolerance and are free from warping. · **Material Knowledge:** Identification of various wire gauges, tube types, sheets, and steel profiles (galvanized or black). · **Surface Preparation:** Techniques for removing welding spatter, grinding, and cleaning to ensure proper adhesion of subsequent paint.
