Preventive maintenance and emergency repairs Description: The Engine Operator is the professional responsible for the technical and operational management of the vessel's Engine Department. They directly oversee the operation, maintenance, consumption control, and safety of propulsion systems and auxiliary equipment, ensuring efficiency and safety of onboard operations. They are also responsible for organizing the technical team, managing materials, and preparing operational reports for the department. Main Responsibilities: * Manage and supervise maneuvers in the Engine Room; * Coordinate and control fuel and material consumption; * Plan and supervise repairs, both onboard and at external workshops; * Inspect tanks, machine conditions, and inventoried materials; * Monitor proper use of PPE and report irregularities to the Master; * Implement pollution prevention measures and perform emergency repairs; * Issue technical and operational status reports for the department; * Maintain the department in continuous safe and efficient condition. Work Location: Harbor Tugboat. Work Schedule: 3x2x2x3\. Desired Qualifications: * Education: STCW III/5 Engine Operator certification; * Valid maritime certification; * Valid Certificate of Competency (COC) for the position; * Up-to-date vaccination record.
