Job Summary: The Senior Mechanical Engineer will contribute to developing engineering solutions and strategic decarbonization initiatives at refineries. Key Highlights: 1. With the power of many curious minds, together we can continue solving the world’s most complex challenges and generating greater impact. **SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER** **About the Position** The **SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER** will be responsible for contributing to all engineering phases—from concept through detailed design—and executing strategic decarbonization initiatives at the Alunorte refinery. * Phases 2 and 3 of electric boiler implementation * Conversion of two coal-fired boilers to exclusive biomass (açaí seed) combustion * Supply of renewable energy to the new boilers * Development of the biomass supply chain * Installation of a truck scale * Adaptation of belt conveyors for biomass **Key Responsibilities** * Prepare mass and energy balances for: + Boiler water treatment system + Steam generation to meet refinery demand * Develop CO₂ balances considering current and future energy mix * Review technical engineering documentation for decarbonization projects * Prepare: + CVP documentation + Technical reports + Management presentations * Participate in: + HAZID + HAZOP + System commissioning * Support development of the biomass supply chain: + Conduct technical visits to suppliers + Audit drying, sampling, and quality control processes + Evaluate fuel parameters such as moisture content and consistency * Contribute to the biomass consumption strategy: + Support gradual increase in usage + Ensure supply to converted boilers **Requirements and Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering * Preferred: + Postgraduate qualification or experience in: - Power and steam generation - Combustion - Renewable energy - Water treatment * Experience with engineering project documentation * Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite * Intermediate/advanced English: Continue your career journey as an Arcadiane We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to bring their best.
