You will be part of a business built for the future by joining us on a transformative journey. **Your Responsibilities** ------------------- * Technically lead and execute short- and medium-term energy price forecasting processes, continuously improving them while ensuring methodological consistency, analytical robustness, and result quality; * Serve as technical advisor to the trading desk, providing analyses, scenarios, and recommendations for positioning and risk mitigation; * Monitor and actively participate in forums, meetings, and working groups organized by the National Electric System Operator (ONS) and the Chamber of Commercialization of Electric Energy (CCEE) related to the calculation of the Settlement Price of Differences (PLD), as well as track regulations, technical notes, and public consultations on this topic, anticipating potential impacts on prices and the company’s commercial strategies; * Develop, structure, and evolve automated internal processes, codes, and models for short- and medium-term price forecasting (core and/or satellite models), ensuring continuous methodological updates, traceability, and computational efficiency; * Plan and conduct complex studies on price formation, risk assessment, and structural drivers of the power sector (e.g., generation expansion, transmission constraints, demand projections, among others). **What Will Make You Successful?** -------------------------------- ### **Academic Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree completed in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields; * Master’s degree in Optimization, Energy Planning, Quantitative Modeling, or related fields is desirable. ### **Knowledge and Skills** * Experience in the electricity market; * Familiarity with computational models Newave, Decomp, and Dessem; * Advanced English proficiency for conversation, writing, and reading; * Advanced Microsoft Office suite proficiency; * Advanced programming skills (Python knowledge required); * Advanced proficiency in Business Intelligence tools (Power BI preferred); * Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and machine learning is desirable. ### **Profile** * Technical leadership in energy price modeling and forecasting; * Strong analytical capability and quantitative mindset; * Critical thinking for evaluating models and regulatory assumptions; * Risk orientation and strategic support to the trading desk; * Proficiency in programming and model automation (Python & BI); * In-depth knowledge of the electricity sector and PLD formation.
