Import Procurement Analyst

Job Summary: Responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing the entire import process, with emphasis on logistics efficiency, customs compliance, and cost reduction. Key Highlights: 1. Optimizes import processes with a focus on efficiency and cost reduction. 2. Ensures customs compliance and adherence to current legislation. 3. Coordinates door-to-door processes and interacts with international partners. Responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing the import process for raw materials, components, equipment, or finished goods. Works with a focus on logistics efficiency, customs compliance, cost reduction, and on-time delivery assurance, ensuring alignment with internal policies and current legislation. Key Responsibilities: * \- Plan and monitor international shipments, ensuring adherence to delivery timelines and contractual requirements. * \- Coordinate door-to-door import processes, from purchase order placement through customs clearance to delivery at the plant or final destination. * \- Interact with international suppliers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, banks, and internal departments (tax, accounting, finance, engineering, production planning and control (PCP), quality, etc.). * \- Review and validate import documents (commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of analysis, among others). * \- Monitor customs clearance and ensure proper tax and fiscal classification of goods. * \- Track performance indicators (lead time, logistics costs, warehousing) and propose continuous improvement actions. * \- Conduct international quotations, cost simulations, and economic feasibility analyses. * \- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and current legislation (SISCOMEX, RADAR, NCM, taxes, import licenses, etc.). * \- Participate in audits, process reviews, and development of new foreign suppliers. Education: * \- Bachelor's degree completed in International Trade, International Relations, Business Administration, Logistics, or related fields. Technical Knowledge: * \- Import and international logistics processes * \- Knowledge of export processes is desirable * \- Fiscal classification (NCM), Incoterms, and customs regimes * \- Foreign trade legislation and import documentation * \- Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate to advanced level) * \- SAP * \- Advanced English (reading, writing, and speaking) * \- Advanced Spanish (desirable) Experience: * \- Minimum of 3 years (Mid-level) or 5 years (Senior-level) of experience in import processes within industrial or large-scale companies.
