Job Summary: As a steward, you will clean and organize Food & Beverage (F&B) areas, managing materials and waste to ensure hygiene and compliance with Copacabana Palace standards. Key Highlights: 1. Cleaning and organization of kitchen/restaurant utensils and areas 2. Waste management, including sorting and recycling 3. Maintenance of hygiene and safety standards STEWARD \- KITCHEN CLEANING As a steward at the Copacabana Palace, a Belmond Hotel, you will clean F&B departments, managing materials and waste to ensure hygiene, quality, and compliance with Belmond and Copacabana Palace standards, promoting reduction, reuse, and recycling. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS **Hygiene and organization:** * Clean and organize utensils (crockery, cutlery, glassware, porcelain, silverware, and plastic containers) in accordance with the Stewards’ Manual. * Sanitize machines, equipment, floors, walls, and other areas of kitchens and restaurants. * Use chemical products correctly, following recommended dilution ratios. * Complete and sign checklists and the monthly hygiene plan. **Waste and recycling:** * Sort waste, separating recyclables and organics. * Remove recyclables and glass bottles, delivering them to the recycling area. * Organize waste in designated bays. **Maintenance and safety:** * Identify and report malfunctions in machines and equipment, requesting maintenance as needed. * Report temperature changes in waste bins and issues with compactors. * Report items found in waste to Security Management. * Support the maintenance team in routine activities. **General organization:** * Maintain the department clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene and safety standards. **Requirements:** * Completed high school education * Minimum of 6 months’ experience in this role or a similar position within the cleaning industry is desirable. * Knowledge of Food Safety is an advantage. **Benefits:** * Health and dental insurance extendable to immediate dependents. * Pharmacy benefit plan. * Transportation allowance. * On-site meals. * Life insurance. * Birthday day off. * Discounts at company sales outlets. * Based on your "length of service", you earn complimentary nights and experiences at company properties worldwide, including a 50% discount on Food \& Beverage.
