Oncological cases and dysphagia experience desirable **Description:** Speech-Language Pathologist\- Speech-Language Pathology\- Concórdia Unit **Salary:** 4\.275,23\+ Benefits **Schedule:** 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday to Friday **Required:** Completed undergraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology / Experience in Adult/Older Adult Hospital Speech-Language Pathology **Desirable (Plus for the candidate, not mandatory for hiring):** Experience in oncological hospital cases and dysphagia / Experience across multiple specialties (oncology, cardiology, general medicine, ICU) Assess and follow up patients with interconsultations registered in the Gesthos and outpatient oncology systems; participate in bed-side visits with the team when necessary; monitor the care plan and implement proposed interventions to improve patient outcomes; assess swallowing alterations; verify whether extubated patients are eligible to begin speech-language pathology intervention for swallowing and communication disorders, including specific therapies and tracheostomy weaning. Assist in managing department-related documents (indicators, SOPs, and other documents). Provide services at Santa Lúcia Unit upon coordination request. Assess patients with interconsultations registered in the Gesthos system; review medical records for patient evaluation, analyzing current and past medical history; perform direct and indirect swallowing assessments to identify patients with dysphagia or at risk for dysphagia, enabling timely initiation of speech-language pathology interventions to prevent aspiration risks; patients already cleared for oral intake but at risk for dysphagia must be monitored to suspend or adjust food consistency in collaboration with physicians and clinical nutrition; verify whether extubated patients are eligible to begin speech-language pathology rehabilitation in coordination with physicians, aiming to optimize oral feeding and communication (voice, speech, language); monitor patients’ daily clinical history and progress via the Gesthos system, bedside visits, multidisciplinary team meetings, and care plans to ensure updated information, formulation, and direction of therapeutic plans; after direct and indirect assessment, determine the appropriate treatment type; develop specific therapies for swallowing disorders and tracheostomy weaning, targeting rehabilitation; discuss clinical cases with the care team; if thickener use is deemed necessary, inform the responsible physician for prescription; prescribe it if required; document all patient follow-ups in the Gesthos system, print documents, and file them in physical medical records; schedule all patients for appointments in the Gesthos system; after follow-up, verify whether the appointment has been completed; reschedule appointments if the patient cannot be seen on the scheduled day; deliver therapy per the therapeutic plan, continuing treatment in the ICU and inpatient units to achieve full swallowing rehabilitation; initiate oral diet according to patient assessment and progress; instruct caregivers on feeding-related care, including positioning during feeding, alertness level, consistency of prescribed diet, and thickener usage, to ensure safety and continuity of feeding care; complete the care plan as defined by institutional scope; fill out the department’s Daily Patient Monitoring Worksheet; attend departmental meetings; participate in institutional training programs; join institutional committees and initiatives as requested by coordination; read emails daily; monitor supply inventory (e.g., dyes, office supplies) and request replenishment when shortages occur, promptly notifying coordination via email; track incidents—opening, responses, and action plans—in the Gesthos Web System – Incidents Module; record and monitor departmental risks per Risk Management protocols, as requested by coordination; issue service orders to respective departments when access issues arise; verify the requested workflow; notify coordination personally or via email if coordination intervention is needed; prepare/complete monthly departmental indicators, risk management reports, annual training plans, print the visible management board, or any other workflows requested by coordination or the institution; in outpatient settings, perform direct and indirect speech-language pathology assessments for oncology patients under treatment, analyzing current and past medical history; document follow-ups for all patients in the Gesthos system and print documents for delivery to the oncology secretary or SUS outpatient clinic; monitor patients for dysphagia risks; attend oncology meetings (inpatient and outpatient); monitor patients initiating cisplatin-based chemotherapy protocols in head and neck clinics to prevent ototoxicity; contact the assistant management team in coordination’s absence and execute established departmental workflows per scheduled dates; visit other units affiliated with or potentially joining the São Francisco Hospital Foundation upon coordination or management request. 2511060202271768940
