As a **Backend Software Engineer** at Mercado Livre, you will design and scale innovative and secure systems that solve real-world, high-impact problems. You will work in a dynamic environment leveraging cutting-edge technology, engineering best practices, proprietary AI models, and continuous learning — all aimed at democratizing e-commerce and financial services across Latin America.

* Actively participating in product design phases, analyzing requirements and proposing alternatives.
* Collaborating on architecture definitions, always prioritizing scalable solutions and ensuring excellence in performance.
* Writing high-quality code and verifying its functionality and optimal execution prior to implementation.
* Contributing to evolutionary maintenance aligned with industry’s highest standards.
**What we’re looking for:**
* Backend development experience (Java and/or Go) in high-performance and scalable environments.
* Knowledge of databases (Relational and/or Non-Relational).
* Proficiency in clean code practices, SOLID principles, design patterns, testing, and observability (Datadog, New Relic, Kibana).
* Familiarity with event-driven architecture (e.g., SAGA) and microservices using technologies such as Spring Boot and related frameworks.
* Knowledge of API design and communication protocols (REST, messaging, etc.).
