




Job Summary: An ophthalmologist responsible for patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment (clinical/surgical), optical prescription, follow-up care, and family counseling to support patient rehabilitation. Collaboration with municipal governments on health initiatives **Description:** **Education / Qualifications:** Completed medical degree and residency in Ophthalmology. Relevant experience in the duties of this position **Specific Knowledge:** Rehabilitation, Public Health Policies/SUS. Conduct ophthalmological evaluations of patients through interviews and examinations to diagnose conditions and determine appropriate treatment (clinical or surgical). Prescribe optical correction for refractive errors when necessary and monitor patients’ adaptation to optical correction via periodic consultations to ensure optimal adherence to the prescribed treatment. Counsel patients’ parents and/or caregivers to raise awareness about the importance of family involvement in patient care and rehabilitation processes. Develop therapeutic plans in coordination with the multidisciplinary team, documenting professional opinions within the scope of practice to support patient rehabilitation progress. Prepare reports detailing the patient’s rehabilitation follow-up process upon request by the patient, the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), or the Health or Socio-Assistance Network. Collaborate with the municipal governments of the microregions of Ipatinga, Coronel Fabriciano, and Caratinga through lectures and training sessions aimed at guiding other network stakeholders on the referral pathways and services provided by the Specialized Rehabilitation Center.
