If you are interested, we invite you to apply and participate in our recruitment process! **Responsibilities and Duties** **What will be your main responsibilities?** * Technical coordination of multidisciplinary teams (geotechnics, geology, planning, and operations), with focus on pit slope stability and operational safety; * Preparation, review, and validation of geotechnical studies, analyses, and technical documents related to mine/pit operations; * Participation in technical meetings with internal and external departments, including preparation of technical reports, expert opinions, and calculation memoranda; * Direct support to mine operations and mining planning activities, including field monitoring, technical visits, and project adjustments based on actual geotechnical conditions; * Development of geotechnical studies for capital projects related to pit phases, expansions, and operational optimizations; * Critical analysis of geotechnical data (monitoring, laboratory tests, and mapping), issuing technical recommendations for risk mitigation; * Fulfillment of operational geotechnical requirements, supporting daily decision-making for mine operations; * Management and supervision of field geotechnical operations, including geotechnical monitoring programs, stability controls, and oversight of laboratory testing. **Requirements and Qualifications** **Experience:** * Knowledge of mining pit slope stability analyses; * Experience in slope stability and geotechnical risk analysis; * Knowledge of design and supervision of waste rock piles, tailings piles, dams, and dikes; * Ability to analyze and interpret soil and rock geotechnical test results; * Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (Slide2, RS2, R2S or similar); * Experience preparing technical reports, expert opinions, and calculation memoranda; * Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D; * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; * Technical leadership and coordination of multidisciplinary teams; * Strong technical communication skills, analytical mindset, and problem-solving focus. **Additional qualifications that will be considered advantageous:** * Experience with numerical modeling applied to mining; * Knowledge of hydraulic design software for geotechnical structures; * Familiarity with ARCGIS / ArcMAP or similar GIS software for spatial analysis and integration of geotechnical data; * Experience working within large mining companies or on major-scale projects; * Knowledge of geotechnical risk management and geotechnical monitoring systems; * Participation in technical committees, geotechnical audits, or independent reviews; * Experience in planning and managing geotechnical engineering projects; * Integrated work within geotechnical engineering teams, interfacing with geotechnics, mine operations, planning, and corporate departments. **Qualifications and Legal Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geology, and/or Environmental Engineering; * Postgraduate degree in geotechnics, project management, dam safety, geotechnical structures, or related fields; * Active registration with CREA (Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy). **Additional Information** **What benefits will I receive?** * Health insurance plan; * Dental insurance plan; * Life insurance; * Private pension plan; * Vacation bonus; * Meal allowance card; * Gympass; * Access to Usiminas Corporate University and goFLUENT language platform; * Profit and Results Sharing Program. **Diversity and Inclusion** **Usiminas** is becoming increasingly diverse and inclusive, believing everyone has the potential to truly be themselves!
