To support this mission, Syngenta’s Seeds team is seeking a Production Supervisor – Seeds in Formosa. This role will support leadership of the corn seed production process under their responsibility, ensure people and operational safety, produce and deliver according to plan, meet quality standards, and pursue optimal production cost: **Responsibilities:** * Responsible for ensuring quality, health, safety, and sustainability in compliance with applicable legislation and internal Syngenta standards; * Responsible for field-based seed production stages, including: area scouting, contracting, material allocation, planting, documentation issuance, phytosanitary management, detasseling, quality inspections, yield estimates, progress reporting, system data entry, chemical inventory control, and harvest; * Responsible for managing cooperators and service providers, and actively participating in third-party selection and evaluation; * Comply with legal requirements related to corn seed production; * Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations for production, quality, and HSE issues. **Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy; * Class B driver’s license; * Technical knowledge of corn seed production; * Proficiency in digital tools (general applications, data collection and input, satellite image analysis, etc.); * Willingness to travel; * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; * Skills (Leadership, Flexibility, Resilience, Teamwork, Creativity, Proactivity, Effective Communication, Commitment, Empathy, Continuous Learning, and Ownership Mindset). **Additional Information** **What We Offer** * A culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion, fosters professional development, and seeks a healthy balance between professional and personal life to support team members. **Job Description:** The Field Technical Representative for Hybrid Corn Seed Production is the professional responsible for the technical management and field monitoring of Corteva’s seed production fields. This professional will be involved from contracting production fields within their operational area, through planting supervision, crop management recommendations, detasseling, male removal, and harvest monitoring. Their primary objective is to ensure compliance with all quality criteria and standards required for field-level seed production, guarantee timely execution of all field activities according to defined schedules, ensure delivery of the planned seed volume within their assigned area of responsibility, and meet production cost targets and good field production practices. **Responsibilities:** * Prospect and gather information within their production region regarding qualification of top producers suitable for seed production, considering all technical criteria, necessary infrastructure, land availability, etc.; * Prospect, negotiate, and contract seed production fields with cooperating growers, selecting optimal fields using negotiation, communication, and argumentation skills; * Manage documentation for preparing production contracts with cooperating growers in a timely manner, demonstrating high organizational capability; * Provide full technical support to cooperating growers in their operational region, overseeing all field operations—from planting, pest, disease, and weed management, to irrigation management—with the goal of ensuring uniform fields exhibiting healthy development and high productive potential; * Monitor and manage mechanical and manual detasseling, male removal, and field harvest; * Ensure implementation and planting of production fields under their responsibility within defined timelines, adhering to the recommended planting window for each hybrid; * Ensure compliance with all guidelines stipulated in Corteva’s Quality Policy and Field Quality Manual; * Ensure compliance with quality standards concerning isolation requirements for seed production fields, thereby safeguarding the genetic quality of Corteva seeds; * Guarantee management and monitoring of irrigation across all production fields in their operational region; * Oversee the entire detasseling operation, proactively planning required resources—including personnel and equipment—to execute the operation efficiently and on schedule across their assigned areas; * Ensure and manage inspection of production fields during flowering and detasseling periods to guarantee adherence to quality standards specified in Corteva’s Field Inspection Manual; * Supervise harvest operations, ensuring integrity and quality of produced seeds, minimizing field losses, meeting the weekly harvest plan, target number of loads, and appropriate harvest moisture levels; * Perform daily updates in the company’s digital systems, promptly reporting all field-related information to their immediate supervisor; * Comply with all Corteva safety procedures during task execution and ensure adherence to safety protocols in all areas under their responsibility; * Fulfill all legal requirements while performing duties, acting in accordance with Corteva’s Compliance Policy; * Collaborate with internal Corteva departments and teams—including planning, production research, seed processing site, third-party support service providers, and the company’s quality department—to ensure produced seeds conform to required standards; **Job Qualification:** * Bachelor’s degree in Agronomic Engineering; * Minimum 3 years’ proven technical experience managing hybrid corn seed production fields; * Technical expertise in best agronomic practices for corn cultivation and seed production fields, including pest, disease, and weed management; * Ability to prepare and interpret agronomic reports and performance indicators; * Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel; * Familiarity with digital agricultural tools—such as GPS, drones, and farm management software—is desirable; * Valid Brazilian driver’s license (Category B) required; * Contract negotiation skills with seed producers required; * Willingness and ability to travel frequently; * Must reside in Formosa/GO or nearby cities within the production region.
