Quality Control Leader

Description

Requirements: * Currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, or related fields, with experience in quality control within the chemical, home care, hygiene, or sanitation industries. * Prior experience in development laboratories, quality control laboratories, or similar settings. * Product handling and formulation (preferably cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or chemicals). * Knowledge of physicochemical, stability, compatibility, and performance testing. * Quality standards such as ISO 9001 and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). * Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel) for controls and technical spreadsheets. * Ability to train and develop personnel; proactive, ownership-oriented mindset toward quality control, with emphasis on deviation prevention. * Operational leadership, organization, technical judgment, sense of urgency, data-driven decision-making, and effective communication with production floor and support departments. * Basic knowledge of automation/digital laboratories is a plus. Responsibilities: Lead laboratory and quality control inspection routines, defining priorities, assigning tasks, monitoring release deadlines, and ensuring tests are conducted in accordance with procedures, specifications, and the department’s control plan—optimizing testing and guaranteeing accurate, timely, and compliant results. Ensure incoming material and raw material inspections, in-process controls, finished product testing, water analysis, damage assessment, and, where applicable, environmental monitoring and residue analysis—with complete recording of results, issuance of test reports, and support for release decisions. Guarantee that the laboratory operates using appropriate, calibrated, and qualified equipment. Manage reagents, standards, solutions, materials, and supplies. Identify and procure new equipment, and ensure replacement of obsolete or inactive equipment to modernize operations, improve operational efficiency, and enhance process reliability. Maintain the laboratory, receiving area, and inspection zone clean, safe, and compliant with internal standards and ISO 9001\. Conduct investigations into deviations, out-of-specification results, nonconformities, complaints, returns, and process or product incidents—defining corrective and preventive actions, tracking effectiveness, and providing feedback to involved departments. Lead the quality control team, ensuring initial and ongoing training, technical performance evaluation, adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), safety protocols, organization, document discipline, and procedural compliance. Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, R&D, Procurement, Maintenance, and Regulatory Affairs to support testing, line qualifications, batch adjustments, investigations, and audits. Monitor quality control indicators—including release time, rejections, retests, deviations, complaints, CAPA effectiveness, calibration compliance, sampling plan adherence, and equipment availability—reporting results to management and driving improvement initiatives. Participate in company-provided training and continuous improvement activities, applying best practices in daily work. Act as an internal advocate and multiplier of best practices within the laboratory and across the production floor. Support the organization of documentation required by quality standards, internal procedures, and regulatory processes, as applicable. Assist in standardizing product usage instructions, technical information, and supporting materials upon request. Assist in forecasting and monitoring laboratory consumables usage. Assist in developing and maintaining simple spreadsheets and controls for traceability of tests, samples, and internal approvals. Contribute suggestions for continuous improvement, organization, productivity enhancement, and reduction of rework in quality control routines. Uphold company culture.
