**About the Role**
We are looking for a Coordinating Attorney to lead the Claims Analysis area within a mutual property protection association. The role entails ensuring legal security, efficient claims handling, and a positive member experience, with strategic involvement in risk management and fraud prevention.
**Main Responsibilities**
* Coordinate the claims analysis/investigation unit (auto and other applicable lines), ensuring compliance with internal regulations, bylaws, and applicable legislation.
* Review and validate coverage decisions, denials, indemnifications, and/or repairs, ensuring appropriate legal justification.
* Draft legal opinions on complex claims cases, disputes regarding clause interpretation, exceptional circumstances, and potential fraud cases.
* Support the team in defining workflows, deadlines, and technical criteria for claims analysis, balancing mutual fund protection and member satisfaction.
* Supervise the drafting and review of formal communications to members (approvals, denials, requests for supplementary documentation, settlement agreements, etc.).
* Proactively reduce litigation by proposing adjustments to regulations, membership terms, claims policies, and operational routines.
* Support litigation management related to claims (coordinating with external law firms, submitting documents, providing defense support, negotiating settlements).
* Collaborate with the GRC team to identify, assess, and address legal risks associated with the claims process.
* Train and guide claims analysts and investigators on legal topics, regulatory requirements, internal regulations, and best practices in member service.
* Monitor departmental KPIs (average analysis time, reversal rate of denials, litigation rate, average indemnification value, etc.) and propose improvement plans.
**Mandatory Requirements**
* Completed Law degree with active registration at the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
* Experience in coordination, team leadership, or as a technical reference (mid/senior level) in the field.
* Solid knowledge of:
* Civil and Consumer Law;
* Contracts, insurance, or similar products;
* Civil liability and material/moral damages.
* Ability to draft clear, objective, and well-founded legal opinions, notices, and communications.
* Analytical profile, sense of justice, risk awareness, and focus on the economic\-financial sustainability of the business.
**Preferred Qualifications (non-eliminatory)**
* Experience in vehicle protection/mutual associations.
* Prior experience in claims analysis, claims adjudication, civil litigation related to insurance/vehicle protection, or related areas.
* Previous experience in GRC, risk management, compliance, or fraud prevention.
* Knowledge of LGPD as applied to claims processes and member service.
* Familiarity with performance indicators and management tools (dashboards, BI, etc.).
