Mineral Reserve Planning Specialist
**Description:**
**Required Qualifications and Experience:**
Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related fields.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mineral reserve estimation, preferably in underground operations.
Knowledge of and adherence to international reporting standards (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101, CIM, etc.).
**Proficiency in mining software (e.g.,** Deswik, Vulcan, Datamine, Surpac).
**Strong knowledge of underground mining methods (e.g.,** sublevel stoping, cut-and-fill, room-and-pillar).
Strong technical and economic analysis capability, including cost modeling and estimation of dilution/recovery.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and technical writing skills.
**Active professional registration or eligibility (e.g.,** Competent Person under JORC, P.Eng, or equivalent) will be considered an advantage.
**Desirable Attributes:**
Experience in underground projects with exposure to hybrid operations (open-pit + underground).
Experience with various ore types and deposit styles.
Solid understanding of resource and reserve modeling principles.
Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
Familiarity with conceptual and operational mine planning processes.
Responsible for estimating, reporting, and conducting technical and economic evaluations of mineral reserves in compliance with international reporting codes. The ideal candidate possesses extensive underground mining experience, complemented by knowledge of open-pit operations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Develop, update, and maintain mineral reserve models for project development studies, ensuring compliance with international standards (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101, CIM).
Contribute to the development of long-term mine plans, focusing on reserve viability.
Design and validate underground and open-pit extraction alternatives based on technical and economic criteria.
Integrate geological, geotechnical, operational, and metallurgical data into reserve modeling and classification.
Conduct economic evaluations of mineralized bodies and propose optimizations to project design and mining sequence.
Prepare technical reserve reports and participate in internal and external audits.
Support the project team in mine design and site layout.
Support strategic planning, budget preparation, and various stages of feasibility studies.
Contribute to continuous improvement of reserve estimation and reporting processes.
