**Job Description** **This position requires full-time on-site work in Baixada Santista – São Paulo.**
**Who will you work with?**
As a Field Service Engineer, you will collaborate with other engineers and analysts who work directly at customer sites that have purchased PTC technology. Routine activities include overseeing installations, commissioning equipment, and providing technical support to customer maintenance teams. Additionally, you will interface with the local Onboard Engineering team to support requests such as new installations, field testing, and reporting of potential issues identified. The Field Engineer also maintains close coordination with the Onboard Laboratory team to enhance accuracy in deployed equipment performance. Frequent interaction with other company departments—including Project Management (PM), Commercial, Integration, and EHS—is also expected.
**How will you make a difference?**
As a member of the Onboard Field Service team, you will be responsible for: working directly with railway operating customers to monitor and ensure PTC system performance, thereby minimizing operational impacts on train services and contributing to product satisfaction; supporting customer maintenance routines at workshops and/or trackside upon request, delivering preventive or corrective technical support; performing failure analysis, issue resolution, and defect correction; contributing to potential solutions, specifications, and documentation—including schematics, As-Built drawings, and PTC system installation manuals; and fostering strong technical relationships with customers to consolidate positive intercompany and product relations and identify new business opportunities.
**What do we want to know about you?**
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Control and Automation Engineering.
* Ability to interpret electrical and electronic schematics.
* Proficiency in English (basic level), with reading and writing skills.
* Ability to lead technical meetings and discussions in collaborative environments involving internal teams and/or customers.
* Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate clearly and concisely, tailored to technical and executive audiences.
* Willingness to travel and work on-site at railway locations.
* Valid Brazilian driver’s license (Category B or higher) held for at least two years.
* Ability to build high credibility and strong positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
* CREA (Regional Council of Engineering and Architecture) registration is desirable.
* Advanced Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Flexibility to work across varying shifts, locations, time zones, urgent response requirements, and availability to work on holidays and commemorative dates.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Proven experience with embedded systems applied in the railway industry.
* Experience with railway signaling systems—particularly PTC, I-ETMS, or CBTC—is a plus.
* Experience in failure analysis, defect correction, and technical support for railway systems.
* Ability to conduct software and hardware testing in operational environments.
* Commitment to continuous improvement and learning.

* Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

**What will your day-to-day look like?**
* Plan and execute field activities at various customer work sites, including coordination of multi-functional resources and subcontractors when applicable.
* Provide on-site technical support at workshops or railway yards across the network to resolve defects, reducing system downtime and improving quality.
* Provide remote technical support to third-party or in-house customer maintenance teams whenever feasible.
* Serve as the primary customer liaison throughout the contract term, including resolving specification-related issues, handling correspondence, providing periodic updates, ensuring customer satisfaction, and negotiating/coordination with multi-functional teams as appropriate.
* Monitor onboard installations, commissioning, and testing of the PTC system as required within railway companies that have acquired PTC.
* Ensure delivered products and services meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
* Support the local Onboard Engineering team in software/hardware testing or other field-based requests.
* Conduct frequent travel and relocation to meet interoperability demands among customers using the PTC system.
* Perform onboard failure analysis, identify root causes, and generate performance reports on installed Wabtec products to maintain PTC system reliability.
* Participate in and lead meetings covering various topics related to area products and processes.
You may also be asked to perform duties outside your core function or profession, for which appropriate training will be provided if necessary.
