Drive innovative solutions using GenAI As a **Software Project Lead Backend** at Mercado Livre, you will design and scale innovative and secure systems that solve real-world, high-impact problems. You will work in a dynamic environment powered by cutting-edge technology, applying engineering best practices, proprietary AI models, and continuous learning—all aimed at democratizing e-commerce and financial services across Latin America. Imagine\-yourself leading challenging, dynamic, and innovative projects and **being responsible for:** * Leading the team in defining and evolving scalable systems focused on high availability and performance, ensuring adoption of engineering best practices, code quality, and resilience to support high-volume transactions with low latency. * Defining the technical *roadmap* aligned with strategic business initiatives, with clear and measurable objectives. * Managing projects (planning, scope, estimation, risk management) and ensuring effective communication and alignment among multiple *stakeholders*. * Driving the development of innovative solutions using GenAI. * Delivering end\-to\-end features in partnership with UX, Product, Data, Integrators, Compliance, and other areas. * Establishing and tracking success metrics (product and *engineering*) to enable agile, data\-driven decisions, while navigating diverse markets and regional regulatory contexts—ensuring security, quality, and operational excellence standards. **What we’re looking for in you?** * Proficiency in GO, JAVA, and backend development, plus experience across the full software development lifecycle—including design, evaluation, and implementation of distributed systems (high availability, scalability, resilience, and low latency). * Strong knowledge of microservices and *event\-driven* architecture, APIs, databases (Relational, NoSQL, KVS), *message brokers* (BigQueue, Streams, Workqueues), and SQL. * Familiarity with monitoring/APM tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic) and version control (Git, GitHub). * Analytical ability to make data\-driven decisions, comfort with ambiguity, and skill in transforming complex problems into actionable plans. * Knowledge of design patterns for building robust and secure APIs. **Are you excited to leave your mark on Latin America’s technology landscape?** Apply now and join our mission!
