Join Nexa and be part of a mining company that moves with the world! **Responsibilities and Duties** * Plan, execute, monitor, and validate laboratory tailings tests applied to paste fill; ensure technical quality of tests for: density and specific gravity; particle size distribution and % fines; rheological tests (slump, consistency, flow); mechanical strength tests (UCS); tests at various curing ages; * Evaluate and interpret laboratory test results, ensuring reliability, traceability, and repeatability; * Identify deviations in paste fill behavior and propose technical corrective actions; * Translate test results into operational technical recommendations; * Provide technical support for underground mining planning, considering: stope sequencing; structural function of paste fill; minimum strength requirements; * Participate in defining and reviewing paste fill design criteria; * Develop and maintain technical spreadsheets, databases, and dashboards; * Monitor KPIs for: paste fill strength; result variability; binder consumption; cost per m³ and cost per MPa; planned vs. actual (paste placement), achieved vs. designed strength; * Support technical optimization focused on cost reduction without compromising safety; * Evaluate containment structures (bulkheads and walls), ensuring stability and safety; * Conduct technical inspections and audits to ensure procedural compliance. **Requirements and Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in: Mining Engineering (with emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering); Civil Engineering (with emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering); or Geology (with strong geotechnical focus); * Experience in paste fill and underground containment structures. * Knowledge of soil/tailings mechanics, behavior of cementitious materials, and rheology; * Binder dosage and cost optimization; **Desired Qualifications:** * Postgraduate studies or Master’s degree in: * Geotechnical Engineering * Soil Mechanics * Mine Geomechanics * Tailings Skills and Competencies * Proactive and inquisitive profile * Strong ability to: * Lead technical discussions; * Influence decisions based on data; * Communicate effectively and possess systemic vision * Work comfortably in multidisciplinary environments **Additional Information** ***Nexa believes in fostering a plural environment where everyone feels comfortable and empowered to be themselves.*** We are one of the world’s largest zinc producers!
