**Responsibilities and Duties**
* Participate in story refinement with the Product Owner (PO), designers, and developers—proposing acceptance criteria, edge-case scenarios, and questions that reduce ambiguity before development begins.
* Build test plans for squad stories and features, identifying risks, critical flows, and what should be automated versus manually validated.
* Configure local and test environments for executing test suites (manual and automated), including dependencies, mocks, and auxiliary databases.
* Identify, prepare, and maintain representative test data—balancing happy-path, edge-case, and error scenarios.
* Execute exploratory and functional tests during the sprint, aligned with the same development cycle—not as a final pipeline stage.
* Build and maintain API and end-to-end test automation for critical flows, ensuring long-term suite health and reliability.
* Validate integrations with third-party APIs and asynchronous flows—including failure, retry, and idempotency scenarios.
* Verify database data consistency by writing custom queries to compare persisted data against expected results.
* Report defects and inconsistencies found both in requirement specifications and implementations: reproduction steps, evidence, user impact, and severity assessed collaboratively with the PO.
* Support production incident analysis by helping reconstruct scenarios and designing coverage to prevent recurrence.
* Analyze and monitor production customer tickets, translating recurring issues into improvements in test coverage and process.
* Engage in pair-testing with developers and review automated tests written by the team.
* Monitor production releases and validate developed acceptance criteria.
**Requirements and Qualifications** **Education and Languages**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Analysis and Development, or related fields—or equivalent proven practical experience.
* Fluent English reading ability for technical documentation.
**Technical Experience**
* 2.5+ years of software quality experience, covering both exploratory/functional testing and test automation.
* Solid hands-on experience testing REST APIs: authentication, headers, payloads, status codes, contracts, and versioning.
* Experience building and maintaining test automation using at least one industry-standard stack (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Postman/Newman, Karate, RestAssured, Selenium, or equivalents), with clear understanding of trade-offs among them.
* SQL for relational databases: reading and writing queries to validate data, verify states, and investigate scenarios.
* Ability to read production logs and metrics independently to understand system behavior—without relying on others to interpret events.
* Knowledge of the test pyramid and various test types (unit, integration, contract, E2E, regression, smoke), with sound judgment on selecting the right type per context.
* Attention to edge cases involving sensitive data: monetary values, dates, time zones, decimal precision, concurrency.
**Practices and Tools**
* Distributed QA culture: works closely with developers, contributes to refinements, and reviews team-written automated tests.
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or equivalent platforms: understands where automation runs, reads execution results, and investigates intermittent failures.
* Use of Grafana or equivalent tools for production observability: reading structured logs, metrics, and alerts.
* Use of Docker in local development workflows to spin up application environments.
* Concise, direct documentation of test scenarios, bug reports, and coverage decisions.
* Discerning daily use of AI tools—while retaining full responsibility for validation and release decisions.
* Awareness of security in sensitive flows: handling personal and financial data in tests, using controlled test data, vigilance against credential leakage.
**Profile and Mindset**
* Autonomy to unblock tasks: investigates before asking, but communicates blockers early when support is needed.
* Collaborative mindset: brings risks and scenarios to discussions—not just pointing out errors—and accepts feedback on own work without friction.
* Works closely with developers during refinement and pair-testing—rather than acting as a final pipeline gate.
* Proactively proposes test coverage or process improvements based on daily squad observations.
* Operates within a horizontal, multidisciplinary team—treating PMs, designers, developers, and fellow analysts as peers in decision-making.
* Shares learnings regularly via pair-testing, technical conversations, or brief documentation as part of daily routine.
* Critically evaluates code and AI-generated test scenarios: reviews, questions, and never accepts suggestions as absolute truth.
* Genuine interest in the product: seeks to understand the “why” before planning the “how” of testing.
* Traces defects to root cause—not closing tickets once symptoms disappear.
* Clear written communication in Portuguese—especially when describing defects (steps, evidence, impact, severity).
**Additional Information** **Differentiators**
* Prior knowledge of receivables advance, book-entry duplicates, or the assignor risk market.
* Experience testing generation and parsing of positional files (e.g., CNAB, fiscal XML, or equivalents).
* Knowledge of EDI processes.
* Experience with contract testing in microservices architectures.
* Experience with performance/load testing (e.g., k6, JMeter, Gatling, or equivalents).
* Industry-recognized quality certifications (e.g., CTFL/ISTQB or equivalents).
* Proficiency in Git for collaborative workflows: branches, pull requests, and code reviews.
