We are hiring a **Senior DBA (AWS)** to join the ed team!
**REMOTE**
**Responsibilities and Duties**
* Administer, configure, and optimize **databases on AWS**, including managed services such as **Amazon RDS, Aurora (MySQL/PostgreSQL)**, and, where applicable, **DynamoDB**.
* Conduct **advanced performance analysis**, focusing on **queries, indexes, and execution plans**, ensuring efficiency in both **transactional and analytical environments**.
* Perform **parameter and database management system (DBMS) configuration tuning**, aligned with **cloud architecture best practices**.
* Configure and monitor **observability tools**, such as **CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and APMs**, identifying bottlenecks related to **CPU, memory, I/O, and network**.
* Plan **capacity and scalability** (vertical and horizontal), considering **growth, traffic spikes, and cost optimization (FinOps)**.
* Implement and maintain **high availability, backup, restore, replication, and disaster recovery strategies**, ensuring compliance with **RTO and RPO**.
* Automate **operational routines** using **scripts (Python, Shell)** and/or **Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)**.
* Support **development squads** in **deployments, troubleshooting**, and defining **best practices for data modeling and access**.
* Create and maintain **technical documentation**, **operational standards**, and **procedures** related to cloud databases.
* Serve as the **technical escalation point** for **high-complexity incidents** in production environments.
**Requirements and Qualifications**

**Must-haves:**
* Solid experience as a **DBA for relational databases**, such as **PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle**, or similar.
* Strong hands-on experience with **AWS Cloud**, especially:
+ **Amazon RDS and Aurora**
+ **CloudWatch and Performance Insights**
+ **IAM applied to databases**
+ **Backup, snapshot, and replication strategies**
* Proven experience in **performance tuning**, **index creation and optimization**, and **advanced troubleshooting**.
* Knowledge of **high-availability and resilience architectures** in cloud environments.
* Experience with **data security**, **LGPD**, and **access control**.
* Experience with **automation and scripting**, using **Python and/or Shell**.
* Familiarity with **DevOps practices applied to databases**, including **CI/CD, versioning, and Infrastructure as Code**.
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Experience with **NoSQL databases**, such as **Amazon DynamoDB**.
* **AWS certifications**, such as **AWS Certified Database – Specialty** or **Solutions Architect**.
* Experience with **FinOps** and **cloud database cost optimization**.
* Experience in **mission-critical environments** and **high-volume transactional systems**.
* Knowledge of **data pipelines, ETL**, or **analytical architectures**, such as **Amazon Redshift**.
