Hands-on role in a mixed environment of new development and support. **Role Overview** ----------------- We are seeking a Senior **Java** Full Stack Engineer (backend\-focused) to support and enhance a suite of enterprise applications within the financial services domain. This role is primarily focused on backend development using **Java** and Spring Boot, while also contributing across the frontend (**Angular**) and database (Oracle) layers. The environment is heavily Oracle\-based and involves working with business\-critical systems in investment and banking. The ideal candidate is a hands\-on engineer who is comfortable operating in a mixed environment of new development, maintenance, and production support, and can proactively contribute to improving existing systems and codebases. **Key Responsibilities** ------------------------ * Design, develop, and maintain REST and SOAP APIs using Java and Spring Boot * Work on both new feature development and ongoing maintenance/support of existing systems * Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and bugs in critical applications * Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, developers, and cross\-functional teams * Analyze and improve legacy codebases, addressing technical debt and enhancing performance * Work extensively with Oracle databases, including query development, PL/SQL, and performance tuning * Contribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes * Ensure code quality, scalability, and adherence to development standards * Participate in the evolution and modernization of enterprise\-scale applications **Required Qualifications** --------------------------- * Strong experience in **Java** (preferably **Java** 17/21\) with a backend\-focused mindset * Proven experience building REST APIs (SOAP knowledge is beneficial) * Hands\-on expertise with Spring Boot and backend frameworks * Solid experience with Oracle databases in enterprise environments * Understanding of PL/SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning * Experience with ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate) * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices * Proven experience working with enterprise\-scale, high\-availability systems * Ability to work on large, existing codebases, including debugging and support * Strong problem\-solving skills and ability to work independently * Collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with BAs and technical teams * Advanced English **Nice to Have** ---------------- * Frontend experience with **Angular**, TypeScript, and CSS * Experience in financial services or banking domains * Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) * Experience with reporting tools (e.g., JasperSoft)
