Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive On-site Distance Education Tutor to facilitate learning, guide, monitor, and support students enrolled in distance education courses, ensuring participation and integration. Knowledge of educational technologies and Learning Management Systems (LMS) **Position: On-site Distance Education Tutor** **Employment Type:** On-site / Part-time / Contract \- Hourly rate. **About the Position:** We are looking for a dedicated and proactive **On-site Distance Education Tutor** to act as a learning facilitator in our distance education courses. The professional will be responsible for guiding, monitoring, and supporting students during face-to-face meetings and while using the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), ensuring active participation, clarification of doubts, and integration among students and the institution. **Main Responsibilities:** * Apply UNISA’s Bylaws and master the academic and financial regulations governing its distance education programs. * Monitor students during live classes and satellite class broadcasts, encouraging questioning. * Record student questions and interactions in discussion forums. * Guide and support students in face-to-face activities, promoting motivation and engagement. * Assist with the use of media and technologies applied to the course. * Identify learning difficulties, stimulate critical thinking, and help overcome challenges. * Encourage collaborative and cooperative work among students. * Monitor cases of demotivation or unsatisfactory performance, providing initial support and reporting to the responsible instructor when necessary. **Requirements:** * Experience in distance education and on-site tutoring is a plus. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to motivate and engage students. * Knowledge of educational technologies and virtual learning environments.
