Directly participate in model design, validation, and review We seek a Data Science Coordinator to lead advanced statistical modeling and machine learning initiatives, supporting strategic decision-making in demand forecasting, credit, risk, customer behavior, and advanced data analytics. The candidate will combine technical excellence in Python with team management, ensuring analytical quality, model robustness, and alignment with business needs, guaranteeing online model performance. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Coordinate and develop the Data Science team, monitoring deliverables, priorities, and technical progress and quality of outputs; * Lead **statistical modeling and machine learning** projects, including: * Demand forecasting and time series; * **Probability of Default (PD)** models, credit risk models, and scorecards; * **Purchase propensity, churn, and customer segmentation** models; * Collections propensity models; * Elasticity and pricing models. * Directly participate in model design, validation, and review, ensuring statistical robustness and business alignment; * Define standards for model development, validation, versioning, and documentation; * Ensure use of best practices in **Python**, statistics, and feature engineering; * Collaborate closely with business areas to understand problems, define metrics, and assess impact; * Monitor model performance in production, proposing continuous adjustments and improvements; * Support the area manager in defining roadmaps, priorities, and success indicators; * Promote a culture of experimentation, analytical thinking, and responsible model usage. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Degree in quantitative fields, preferably Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering; * Experience with deployed Data Science project portfolios demonstrating measurable ROI; * Solid experience in **applying Data Science to real business problems;** * Strong expertise in **statistical modeling and machine learning** using Python libraries; * Practical experience with **Python** and libraries such as pandas, numpy, scikit\-learn, statsmodels, xgboost, lightgbm; * Experience with **credit and risk models** (PD, LGD, scoring, classification); * Experience with **time series and demand forecasting;** * Experience in **managing or coordinating technical teams;** * Ability to translate complex models into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders; * Knowledge of model validation, metrics, and monitoring. **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience with production environments and MLOps; * Knowledge of deep learning applied to time series or customer behavior; * Experience handling large-scale data and distributed computing; * Experience in the agribusiness sector; * Postgraduate degree or Master’s in quantitative fields. **Important Soft Skills** * Technical leadership and people development; * Clear communication and business orientation; * Critical thinking and data-driven decision-making; * Organization and priority management; * Strategic vision without compromising technical depth.
