Job Description
Position: Baggage Handling Operator
Summary:
Will operate equipment, identifying non-conformities such as: improper or out-of-specification baggage, mispositioned baggage, abnormal noises, damaged conveyor belts, etc.; assist in the control room; and interact with customers in check-in areas.
Job Responsibilities:
* Support the SCADA operator in equipment operation, removal of jams, and repositioning of baggage.
* Identify and report operational and equipment non-conformities: baggage outside standard specifications, damaged and/or opened baggage.
* Identify and report non-conformities caused by third parties or airline staff during check-in baggage dispatching, and/or by makeup staff inserting or failing to remove baggage outside established procedures.
* Operate the manual coding station, reading and interpreting baggage labels and correctly routing baggage to their respective destinations.
* Perform inspections of grilles and nets around the equipment to prevent possible misrouted baggage. Inspect sensors for alignment, obstruction by paper, plastic, or labels.
* Perform basic panel operations via HMI as instructed by the SCADA operator, such as restarting the system following stoppages on conveyor lines.
* Comply with legally mandated safety regulations, as well as those defined by the client and/or Vanderlande, consistently using personal and/or collective protective equipment.
* Follow standard procedures within one's scope of responsibility.
* 5S — Maintain and promote the methodology.
Requirements:
* Completed High School Education
